France hosting a conference to raise support for humanitarian aid to war-torn Lebanon.
One billion dollars raised to deal with a conflict that is likely to get worse as Israel tries to weaken Hezbollah to a point where the Lebanese army and or Christian factions in the country may be led into conflict with Hezbollah alongside the Israelis.
France was a former colonial power in Lebanon during the 20th Century...

THE NOTION OF PRESIDENT MACRON INVOKING ARTICLE 49.3 OF THE FIFTH REPUBLIC CONSTITUTION OF 1958 AGAIN ON THE TABLE.
LAWS CAN BE PASSED WITHOUT LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL AND THERE WERE NUMEROUS INVOCATIONS OF 49.3 DURING THE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT.
Today in Paris a protest of the 'austerity' budget organized by "Les Patriotes" a faction that broke away from the National Rally on the "Far Right".
The protest one that included signs calling for France to leave the European Union.
