On Friday night in Paris the Fifth Anniversary of the Yellow Vests was commemorated and there would be many more commenorations today Saturday.

November 16th considered by many to be a date that signifies the fifth anniversary of the protest movement launched over fuel taxes imposed by President Macron in the name of dealing with 'climate change'...

FIFTH ANNIVERSARY YELLOW VESTS COMMEMORATION IN PARIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 17TH, 2023

For ten hours on Friday President Emmanuel Macron holding a consultation with leaders of opposition parties willing to participate.  

 This was the last in a series of meetings that some opposition parties like Environmentalists and the National Rally attended with its President Jordan Bardella in the room.

But other opposition forces including the LFI (Left) and Les Republicans (Mainstream Right) chose not to attend the meetings with Macron.

The message coming out of the "consultations" is that some issues may go to a referendum in France but certainly not the increase in France's retirement age forced through by Mr. Macron earlier this year.

Also, it was said at the meeting that immigration was too thorny of an issue for a referendum.

FOLLOWING LAST SUNDAY'S CIVIC MARCH AGAINST ANTI-SEMITISM MARINE LE PEN THE NATIONAL RALLY LEADER IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND LEADING 2027 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE (SHE WINS IN POLLS IN THE FIRST ROUND VOTE) GETS POSITIVE RATINGS.

57 PERCENT OF THOSE POLLED SAW LE PEN AS SINCERE IN HER PARTICIPATION IN THE MARCH AGAINST ANTI-SEMITISM.

THE LEFT IN FRANCE (LFI) AND ITS LEADER JEAN-LUC MELENCHON STEERED CLEAR OF THE MARCH CITING LE PEN'S PARTICIPATION.

THE LEFT TRYING TO GAIN TRACTION IN TWO DIRECTIONS ONE OPPOSING LE PEN WHO IS LABELED 'FAR-RIGHT' AND ALSO AMONG MUSLIMS IN FRANCE ANGERED BY ISRAEL'S MILITARY ACTIONS AGAINST PALESTINIANS.

This week the arrest of Senator Joel Guerriau an Independent Centrist accused of drugging National Assembly member Sandrine Josso of President Macron's Centrist party at his home.

Josso tested and found to have the drug ecstasy in her body.   She left Guerriau's home saying she didn't feel well.   

Her complaint against the Senator indicating that she was drugged in order to facilitate a sexual assault.

Today Guerriau's lawyer telling the media that the drugging of Josso's drink was "an accident" saying that he is not "a sexual predator".

Joel Guerriau suspended from his parliamentary group in the Senate this weekend.

On Saturday afternoon in Paris Yellow Vests protesting on the streets the week's protest in Paris a fifth anniversary event...

Prior to the marching in Paris today banners displayed including a banner calling for "RIC" the "Citizens Initiative Referendum" giving the citizens of France the right to initiate referendums.

That, by the way, definitely not in the discussion of referendums by President Macron and some of the opposition politicians yesterday.

There was a bigger than usual crowd many hundreds marching in the rain today.

A spirited procession with drums and other musical and noisemaking accompaniment.

Umbrellas more common than Yellow Vests.

"#Destitution" was a banner displayed in Paris and one English translation of that is:

                            "Suppression"...

A definite allusion to the ability of Establishment Governments like Emmanuel Macron's and Establishment Media friendly to Macron to gaslight public opinion to isolate and suppress protests that threaten their hold on power.

Something to remember when your emotions are aroused against the opinions and or actions of others in the world around you.

Meanwhile outside Paris Yellow Vest commemorations today like this one at a traffic circle in St. Omer in northern France...

And in Bordeaux today Yellow Vest "David" joined others in a demonstration...

And at a traffic circle in Besancon the Yellow Vests carried on with a protest today police seen at the scene at 9:30 into the video a scuffle of some sort.   A similar scene viewed in the video coming out of Paris today police swarmed a person as the protest was ending.
