SPECIAL REPORT: LAWSUIT BY LEADING IDAHO BUSINESS CONGLOMERATE ENDS UP WITH 50 MILLION DOLLAR JUDGEMENT AGAINST AMMON BUNDY, BUNDY GIVES FOUR REASONS HE REFUSED COURT FIGHT
(NEWS, COMMENT AND ANALYSIS)
"So the court is saying that I owe St. Luke's 50 million dollars for speaking out against them over the Baby Cyrus case"
That's Ammon Bundy libertarian activist and independent candidate for Governor in Idaho last year who got more than 100,000 votes.
Bundy speaking about the result of that civil lawsuit brought against him by St. Luke's Hospital the major health care provider in Idaho.
St. Luke's a key player in the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry alongside potato conglomerates Potlach and Simplot and other large banks and businesses in the state.
Bundy's main opponent in last year's governor's race Republican incumbent and victor Brad Little worked for IACI before he got into politics.
Now this lawsuit stems from an incident that just happened to happen during the political campaign last year.
The grandson of Bundy's campaign manager and co-defendant in this civil lawsuit Diego Rodrigeuz was at the center of a child neglect matter involving doctors associated with the St. Luke's medical conglomerate.
After a medical appointment was missed police pulling the parents of Baby Cyrus Anderson over and seizing the 10-month old child at a gasoline station in Meridian Idaho late on a Friday night...
The child taken to St. Luke's leading to protest efforts by Mr. Bundy and Mr. Rodriguez.
The child eventually returned and discovered by the parents and concerned friends to have a rare medical condition his weight loss not linked to any neglect.
In the aftermath of the controversy St. Luke's launching legal action in Ada County (Boise), Idaho leading to this week's judgement against Bundy and Rodriguez.
St. Luke's argued about threats and intimidation at the beginning of its legal action.
At the trial held recently evidence presented pointing to Ammon Bundy being an extremist and domestic terrorist as well as seeking to make money and profit from his efforts...
Mr. Bundy posted a video late this afternoon listing four reasons he chose not to defend himself in court.
"Reason Number One is that courts are used by the rich and powerful to hurt innocent people"
Bundy alluding to how legally established courts did wrongs in the segregated southern states, in Germany during the Nazi period, the show trials of Stalin.
Also cited the Reformation when "heresy" convictions by courts led to executions.
Bundy said that the courts in Idaho's largest and most urban county (Ada) have become unjust based on his previous experiences with those courts in relation to his COVID protest trials.
Those courts have been as he sees it taken over by radical and extreme political and sexual activists.
"Reason Number Two there is no part of taking Baby Cyrus from his parents that was just or right in any way none and I refuse to legitimize the court proceedings in this case by participating in them..."
"Reason Number Three from the beginning of this litigation I considered the enormous burden that fighting this case would put on my family, on my time and on my finances..."
"Reason Number Four and the final reason I don't believe that rights are maintained in the courts and I've been in the courts a lot...
rights are often diminished in the courts...
rights are preserved only by claiming them, using them and defending them...
it has nothing to do with judges or juries, it has nothing to do with votes or elections...
for many of you out there I apologize for bursting your political bubble of hope that the next election is going to bring you some freedom...
it requires physical defensive action to remain free..."
"Four Reasons I Have Not Defended Myself In Court"-Ammon Bundy Video 7/26/2023...
Ammon Bundy has clearly stated the beliefs that guide him.
The beliefs that guided him and his family through the Bunkerville and Oregon Standoff cases which ended successfully for himself and other family members.
That is certainly something to think about if nothing else tonight.
