William Jennings Bryan ran for President of the United States as the Democrat nominee in 1896, 1900 and 1908. He lost three times lacking the money and power of the business forces backing the Republicans.
Bryan known for defending creationism at the Scopes Trial right before his death in 1925. Bryan also a pacifist who left his post as Secretary of State as events moved towards US involvement in World War I.
Mr. Bryan actually called for the government to own the railroads.
What a Dirty Socialist you say?
Consider this William Jennings Bryan wanted government to own the railroads instead of having the railroads owning the government.
What do we want folks a situation where the banks and the businesses get what they want when they run the government not We The People?

BENJAMIN NETANYAHU- IS HE THE MACHIAVELLI OF OUR TIMES?
It takes "Chutzpah" or something like that to take on the Mainstream Media and their narrative and Benjamin Netanyahu did just that with an ABC News interview this week...
Bibi Netanyahu also going face to face with Wolf Blitzed on CNN as he did the rounds with US mainstream media...
And then there's this:
"...he published a photo of his meeting with the Chinese ambassador on Wednesday. The image of Netanyahu's smiling face as he reads a book by America's preeminent adversary, Xi Jinping, is telling. This photo was clearly designed as a message to America. And not a very nice one"
THE 'CONSERVATIVE' WASHINGTON EXAMINER WRITER TOM ROGAN SLAMS ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU-7/27/2023
And why does Benjamin Netanyahu feel compelled to be friendly towards China well Joe Biden is trying to overthrow his government over the judicial reform issue...
I was wondering why the Republicans of the "Deep State" are not defending Israel right now and that includes Glenn Beck among others.
As that "Washington Examiner" commentary points out the "Deep State" considers Netanyahu to be in "Deep #hit" because Bibi is signaling Biden he will turn to China if Biden doesn't back down on forcing his hand on the judicial reform issue.
In a nutshell the situation looks like this to me:
"Biden is turning the screws on Netanyahu over judicial reform. Those crowds in the street protesting for 'Democracy' you might want to call it the 'Jewish Spring'.
Netanyahu faces an existential threat of regime change from Biden.
So Netanyahu makes nice with China's ambassador in Israel and reads the Xi Jinping book.
The author of this piece makes it sound like Netanyahu is dissing Kevin McCarthy with his Chinese ambassador photo op.
McCarthy and the GOP should be on Biden's case for trying to undermine Netanyahu's government but notice their silence.
They are Biden's silent partners against Israel right now IMHO.
And I guess they risk Israel going to the other of the 'rules-based international order' if they persist in trying to stop the judicial reforms in Israel and undermine the government.
The Democrat-Republican Deep State seems to have four enemies.
Trump
Russia
China
Israel

REFLECTING ON SINEAD O'CONNOR
She lived a life filled with wounds and hurts and kept looking and searching for the solution to heal those wounds and pains.
Better that they would not have happened in the first place those wounds to her.
Her 17-year-old son took his own life 18 months ago and her life ended way too early.
Discussion on Free Republic this week much anger directed her way my responses:
"A wounded soul the Golden Rule starts with me and All Have Sinned to criticize Sinead O'Connor for her actions and think my *ss is clean would be Pride and Vanity"
"She ripped up Pope John Paul's picture on live TV in 1992.
If I want to follow in John Paul's footsteps as he sought to follow in the footsteps of Jesus I cannot be angry with this woman.
PJP went to prison and held the hand of the man who tried to kill him in 1981"
"It certainly did not come easy.
I hurt myself and others for so many decades.
To get to the point where I could post that I had to sober up from intoxication and examine the wrongs of my own past closely and write out the letters of repentance.
I have not spoken the words of my amends to nearly enough people in my past maybe I never will be able to but my actions in everyday living and my words posted online in the spirit of a changed heart are a start.
Sinead O'Connor had four children heck in our day and age how many women bear four children or more that's something to consider.
And by consider I mean some of them are still alive and they feel wounds. Not to mention other surviving friends or family.
Pray that they would find peace and serenity, sanity and sobriety in their lives.
It certainly was tough for Sinead to find it. She kept looking for it as I see it."
I offered up those posts in the context of a post and thread on "Free Republic"....

"So the court is saying that I owe St. Luke's 50 million dollars for speaking out against them over the Baby Cyrus case"
That's Ammon Bundy libertarian activist and independent candidate for Governor in Idaho last year who got more than 100,000 votes.
Bundy speaking about the result of that civil lawsuit brought against him by St. Luke's Hospital the major health care provider in Idaho.
St. Luke's a key player in the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry alongside potato conglomerates Potlach and Simplot and other large banks and businesses in the state.
Bundy's main opponent in last year's governor's race Republican incumbent and victor Brad Little worked for IACI before he got into politics.
Now this lawsuit stems from an incident that just happened to happen during the political campaign last year.
The grandson of Bundy's campaign manager and co-defendant in this civil lawsuit Diego Rodrigeuz was at the center of a child neglect matter involving doctors associated with the St. Luke's medical conglomerate.
After a medical appointment was missed police pulling the parents of Baby Cyrus Anderson over and seizing the 10-month old child at a gasoline station in Meridian Idaho late on a Friday night...
The child taken to St. Luke's leading to protest efforts by Mr. Bundy and Mr. Rodriguez.
The child eventually returned and discovered by the parents and concerned friends to have a rare medical condition his weight loss not linked to any neglect.
In the aftermath of the controversy St. Luke's launching legal action in Ada County (Boise), Idaho leading to this week's judgement against Bundy and Rodriguez.
St. Luke's argued about threats and intimidation at the beginning of its legal action.
At the trial held recently evidence presented pointing to Ammon Bundy being an extremist and domestic terrorist as well as seeking to make money and profit from his efforts...
Mr. Bundy posted a video late this afternoon listing four reasons he chose not to defend himself in court.
"Reason Number One is that courts are used by the rich and powerful to hurt innocent people"
Bundy alluding to how legally established courts did wrongs in the segregated southern states, in Germany during the Nazi period, the show trials of Stalin.
Also cited the Reformation when "heresy" convictions by courts led to executions.
Bundy said that the courts in Idaho's largest and most urban county (Ada) have become unjust based on his previous experiences with those courts in relation to his COVID protest trials.
Those courts have been as he sees it taken over by radical and extreme political and sexual activists.
"Reason Number Two there is no part of taking Baby Cyrus from his parents that was just or right in any way none and I refuse to legitimize the court proceedings in this case by participating in them..."
"Reason Number Three from the beginning of this litigation I considered the enormous burden that fighting this case would put on my family, on my time and on my finances..."
"Reason Number Four and the final reason I don't believe that rights are maintained in the courts and I've been in the courts a lot...
rights are often diminished in the courts...
rights are preserved only by claiming them, using them and defending them...
it has nothing to do with judges or juries, it has nothing to do with votes or elections...
for many of you out there I apologize for bursting your political bubble of hope that the next election is going to bring you some freedom...
it requires physical defensive action to remain free..."
"Four Reasons I Have Not Defended Myself In Court"-Ammon Bundy Video 7/26/2023...
Ammon Bundy has clearly stated the beliefs that guide him.
The beliefs that guided him and his family through the Bunkerville and Oregon Standoff cases which ended successfully for himself and other family members.
That is certainly something to think about if nothing else tonight.
"So the court is saying that I owe St. Luke's 50 million dollars for speaking out against them over the Baby Cyrus"
Ammon Bundy speaking out today about the civil lawsuit involving himself and Diego Rodriguez grandfather of Baby Cyrus Anderson.
The 10-month old boy seized last year by police and taken to St. Luke's Hospital for alleged child neglect under a Child Protective Services order.
The child later returned to his parents found to have had a rare medical condition by the parents through their own research.
St. Luke's suing Bundy and Rodriguez and presenting evidence at trial to a jury saying Ammon Bundy was an extremist, domestic terrorist and seeking to make money.
Bundy chose not to contest the trial with his own defense and he explained why in a video late this afternoon...
