PROTEST IN TOULOUSE, FRANCE FRIDAY MARCH 17, 2023

Next Thursday (March 23rd) declared another day of strikes and protest in France but new strikes and protests already launched en masse following President Emmanuel Macron's pulling of the trigger on pension reform.

Fearful that a majority would not endorse the change of the retirement age from 62 to 64 and the shuffling of benefits, Macron went for the nuclear option of using Article 49.3 of the French Constitution adopted in 1958 (The Fifth Republic).

That constitution created to meet Charles de Gaulle's requirements to leave retirement and assume the office during a major crisis in France driven by the War in Algeria.

In Paris garbage workers have already been on strike for more than a week now and union leaders on Friday urged more trash collectors to go on strike across the country.   Tons of garbage already piled on the streets and sidewalks of Paris...

THE LEFT, WHO HAVE BEEN THE PRIME DRIVERS AGAINST PENSION REFORM, HOPE THE OVERSEAS TERRITORY DEPUTIES CENSURE MOTION WILL DRAW IN A MAJORITY OF THE ASSEMBLY TO FORMALLY CENSURE MR. MACRON'S GOVERNMENT LED BY PRIME MINISTER ELISABETH BORNE.

THE 61 PIVOTAL VOTES OF LES REPUBLICAINS DEPUTIES IN QUESTION.

THE OLD GUARD CONSERVATIVE 'RIGHT' PARTY IN FRANCE WAS DIVIDED ON THE PENSION REFORM LEADING MR. MACRON TO FORCE ITS PASSAGE WITHOUT A VOTE.

ERIC CIOTTI, THE NEW NATIONAL LEADER OF LES REPUBLICAINS, URGING HIS MEMBERS NOT TO SUPPORT CENSURE BUT IN THE END HIS ABILITY TO CONTROL HIS MEMBERS IS NOT CLEAR.

In 2018 the mass protests of the Yellow Vests subsided brought down by January 6th style incidents like vandalism at the Arc de Triomphe and in cafes along the Champs Elysees.

Anarchists in black uniforms showed up to light fires and commit other acts of vandalism.

Anti-Semitic signs just happened to appear at Yellow Vests demonstrations etc. etc.

Eventually COVID-19 came along with fear instilled into the population so it would not gather in large groups.

Can Macron win again and defeat the new protest over his pension reform plan?

Already last night a town hall in a Paris neighborhood was ransacked on the sidelines of a second night of the demonstrations that include black uniformed anarchists lighting fires and setting up barricades.

Trade union leaders say any "radicalization" is the responsibility of the government in imposing pension reform without a legislative vote.

Police made multiple charges and used tear gas to disperse protesters and the CGT union urged people to stop protesting because of the presence of the "thugs".

For the last two nights the Place de la Concorde at the east end of the Champs Elysees the site of anarchist mischief aimed at the police resembling those January 6th scenes at the US Capitol.

Police responding with water cannon and charges to those incidents.

Tonight authorities banning protest at the Place de la Concorde and other locations in Paris....81 arrests in Paris tonight.

But outside of Paris across France protests in small towns and cities numerous ones with no thugs making the protest movement look bad.

Toilet paper thrown at this protest in Le Mans...

This is how the protest looked in Amiens orange union balloons, flags and signs along with drummers at the front of the march...

More January 6th type events at the protest in Brest today but a large peaceful protest involving six thousand people as well...

For now that's the story of France and the Yellow Vests.
