THE PROTEST AGAINST EMMANUEL MACRON'S PENSION REFORM LEGISLATION IN PARIS TODAY MARCH 11, 2023

MASS PROTESTS INVOLVED SOME 3.5 MILLION PEOPLE THIS LAST TUESDAY ACCORDING TO UNION ORGANIZERS, THE GOVERNMENT CLAIMING A SMALLER NUMBER 1.28 MILLION.

IT WAS A DAY OF STRIKE ACTION A SHUTDOWN DAY IN FRANCE WITH OIL REFINERIES, AIRPORTS, RAILROADS AND SCHOOLS IMPACTED.

THE STRONGEST SIGNS YET OF MASS OPPOSITION TO THE 'PENSION REFORM' PROPOSED BY PRESIDENT EMMANUEL MACRON.

France's Senate taking up the pension reform plan of President Emmanuel Macron this week the legislation on a track to final approval by Monday March 26th as it goes to a 14-member committee of both legislative houses in France.

The critical Article 7 raising the retirement age to 64 easily passed the Senate its mainstream "Right" members from "Les Republicains" providing the bulk of the 201 votes in favor while the "Left" formed the main opposition among the 115 against.

What will happen at the end of the process still not clear the government lacks a majority in the National Assembly.

The pivotal votes for a 289 member majority coming from the 62 members of "Les Republicains" who are said by mainstream media to be divided.

The mainstream media in France broaching the notion that President Macron may have to use the 'nuclear option' of Article 49.3 to push through the pension overhaul.

That constitutional provision gives the French President the ability to pass legislation without approval of the National Assembly.

At the end of the week a news report suggesting that some in the National Assembly hope to unite the majority of its members not aligned with President Emmanuel Macron in a motion of censure against the government.

France's leading left-wing politician Jean-Luc Melenchon calling for a "democratic" exit by President Macron from his pension reform plan.

But the government's message as spread by mainstream media revolves around the notion that the pension reform opponents have gone too far that they are too extreme.

One argument made on BFM-TV today was that a bakery and medical center had their power cut last Thursday as electricity workers took action against the homes of cabinet ministers in Mr. Macron's government.

ANOTHER ASPECT OF PRO-GOVERNMENT MESSAGING APPEARS TO BE A GROUP CALLED 'OCCURENCE' WHICH LOW BALLS CROWD ESTIMATES AT PROTESTS.
