NEW ZEALAND DEFENCE FORCE STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF CORPORAL DOMINIC ABELEN IN UKRAINE-TV ONE NEW ZEALAND NEWS STORY

That's what's been said about the death of a solider from New Zealand in Ukraine today.

We're told that he was off duty and on leave from the military.

His father says that Dominic Abelen was fighting in Ukraine.

How do New Zealand soldiers just end up "off duty" "on leave" and "fighting in Ukraine"?

Officially New Zealand sent a 30 member training mission to the UK for Ukrainian soldiers and another 120 member mission is following that original mission up.

In the UK there is said to be a goal of training soldiers from Ukraine some 10,000 over the next 18 months.    Soldiers from others nations including the UK and the Netherlands involved.

The War In Ukraine comes on the heels of wars in Libya and Syria.

Not too many years ago an imam in Australia was approached by a young man wanting to fight in Syria to participate in "jihad".

The imam told him not to go that it was a "trap" the cleric blaming Israel but the deeper truth is that Bashar Assad the Syrian ruler had many enemies from the US and NATO nations under its thumb to the Gulf Arab sheikhs to Israel all opposed for different reasons.

A war fought by young militant Muslim men the admirers of Al Qaeda and bin Laden in Syria offered benefits to all those nations opposed to Assad.

Those inclined to terrorism would be distracted and diverted from fighting the US or trying to overthrow the Gulf Arab kingdoms and yes they would be neutralized as terrorists fighting against Israel.

And beyond that every dead Islamic militant in Syria would be one less "international terrorist" to worry about.

The post 9/11 world started with the fear of "international terrorism" and a Department of Homeland Security that has eventually found itself occupied with matters of "domestic extremism" as well.

The DHS and FBI very wound up in 2020 with opposition to COVID mask orders and other restrictions on public gatherings.     That opposition would also manifest itself regarding vaccine mandates.

DHS-FBI were also tasked by President Trump, then in the White House, to deal with violence related to George  Floyd's death.    

Their performance seemed lackluster but the people who looked like Trump supporters on one occasion at least paintballed Antifa in Portland in late August 2020 

Incidents like that always intrigued me.

The convoy in pickup trucks moving through the flashpoint area near the federal courthouse stirred things up with a "Patriot Prayer" activist gunned down murdered just a few hours later by a self-described Antifa member who eventually was tracked down and killed in a hail of police bullets.

Some months later people like the paintballers who attacked Antifa ended up being lured into the US Capitol on January 6th many blocks away from a peaceful event of a hundred thousand or more people addressed by President Trump.

More than a year after this the actions of the Biden Administration in Ukraine supporting increasing military action in the eastern Russian speaking regions led to direct Russian military intervention and the war.

Democrats and Republicans alike rallied public opinion to patriotism arousing the passions of past wars and the bitter memories of evil done by the likes of Hitler and Stalin.

And foreign nationals including Americans those inclined to military service and to patriotism to fighting tyranny answered the call openly to serve in Ukraine but maybe there's more to the story.

The Biden Administration and Neoconservative policy makers aren't cheering for all the enthusiasm for Donald Trump among the patriotically inclined Americans and nationals of other countries.

These are people who may resist the 2030 Agenda of Climate and so on.   Many of them in Eastern Europe have bitter memories of wrongs done by Russians.

And yes there's no doubt that serving military members include people whose social and religious beliefs are incompatible with those of the ruling elite.

There can be no doubt that "extremists" and "terrorists" were lured to do the bidding of the elites in Syria, the "international terrorists" in the last decade or more.

Has this concept been adapted to lead "extremists" or those considered "domestic terrorists" including current and former military to a new trap in Ukraine?
