Dutch mayors declaring states of emergency and mobile police units deploying to disperse farmers protesting the "nitrogen" rules for cows under a national "climate change"policy.
Blockades at food distribution centers led to empty shelves in Dutch stores today.
There were also tractors and other vehicles staging blockades on highways and at bridges across the Netherlands among other locations.
Arrests have been made. There have been fines issued to hundreds in connection with the blockades on the roads.
