Another no-win war ala Vietnam our love of country massaged to send Americans to their deaths and to be wounded physically and mentally in vain.
Pakistan made the Taliban they are a creation of Pakistani military intelligence used to fill the vacuum when the Soviets pulled out 30 years ago.
Unless the US was willing in 2001 to wage all out war on Pakistan, a nuclear power backed by China, any US military effort in Afghanistan was a joke.
And it was in the end.
The Taliban was always there with Pakistan in its corner and China behind Pakistan.
Russia now connected to China and both China and Russia recognizing Taliban rule today.
The US decided in April of 1951 to not win wars using all out military force like World War II.
General Douglas MacArthur was fired by President Harry Truman for wanting to take the war to China after it intervened in Korea.
George W. Bush led this nation down the path of another Vietnam with his Republican Establishment Neoconservative cronies tough talking patriotic rhetoric etc. etc. masked the true policy.
Al Qaeda came out of Saudi Arabia a business ally of the USA.
The Taliban created by Pakistani military intelligence. Pakistan a nuclear weapons nation allied with China.
Trump knew this and tried to find a fighting way out of this massive and costly quagmire but oops he's no longer in the White House.

Those who were in leadership decades ago and others trying to reassure the soldiers and their families who served and sacrificed in the Afghan War that their efforts were not in vain.
One example is that of former Australian Prime Minister John Howard....ABC NEWS AUSTRALIA
General Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, tweeting that:
"There was nothing that I or anyone else saw that indicated a collapse of this army and this government in 11 days"

Best to again remember that not only is the Afghanistan War, the latest no-win war the US has engaged in with other allied nations, a failure for Joe Biden but for those like Joe Biden the Washington Establishment of both political parties.
Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, the late John McCain, Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney etc. etc. the luminaries past and present of both major political parties.
