In Israel today a new government voted in by the Knesset the country's parliament.      The vote ends 12 years of leadership by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.



The vote 60-59 with one abstention.




A new speaker also elected by Israel's parliament.





Naftali Bennett has been sworn in as the new Prime Minister.

The new Prime Minister Naftali Bennett of the conservative Yamina Party says Iran must not be allowed to get a nuclear weapon.   Bennett also began his remarks with thanks to Benjamin Netanyahu for his service.   He also thanked US President Joe Biden for "unwavering support" for Israel.



He was heckled as he spoke prior to today's vote on a new government.    Some parliament members ordered to leave the room...YNET NEWS ... Outgoing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke saying that a Palestinian state must be prevented.   He also touted diplomatic and economic progress during his tenure as prime minister.



Netanyahu spoke against the new government saying that Naftali Bennett was in his opinion the "Fake Right".

The vote count in Peru continued this weekend in last Sunday's presidential runoff and early this morning it showed a lead of between 49 and 50 thousand votes for Leftist Pedro Castillo.  


Castillo with 50.14 percent of the votes counted and the candidate of the Right,  Keiko Fujimori, with 49.86.
