Well here we are in Venezuela but I thought that was socialism and a bad place that the United States wasn't or that voting the right way would save us from.    The pride, the vanity, the arrogance....


Its pretty rough at the grocery store these days indeed....


The "Chinese virus" and the Russian oil production hike both hurting the Wall Street picture.


Our insider elites driving negative narratives against China and Russia economic competitors but as I recall Republican President Richard Nixon opened up China saying "we need China to run the world" as in the one world crony capitalist economic system.


Nixon first traveled to China in February 1972 and here's some TV news related to that and you see how China worked then and does now with the difference being the technology......

China is a totalitarian powerhouse today and can do big things in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic that is paralyzing other nations while China has the virus under control.....

OIL PRICE UPDATE




The situation with oil and when you see prices virtually cut in half and take away all the taxes you pay at the pump why isn't gas down to 1.50 a gallon?   (I'm looking at 2.15.9 here in York, PA today)   The 23 to 24 dollar a barrel oil price we saw Friday should justify a much lower price but in order to buck up the US oil producers President Trump has promised to buy US oil to put in the "stockpile".



Talk in Washington jawboning if you will in recent days that Saudi Arabia will be talked to diplomatically and Russia will be sanctioned to deal with their production increasing moves that have driven oil down and appear aimed at wiping out the competition from the US oil producers.


Some comment from a high ranking Russian official reported by Tass today.   First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belusov saying he expects the price of a barrel of oil to settle at 35 to 40 dollars a barrel even as other Russian officials suggest a price just over 40 dollars a barrel.     The price was 45-50 dollars a barrel before the bottom fell out of the market so my 2.15.9 price here in PA may be roughly in line with those figures coming out of Russia.    HAS THERE BEEN BEHIND THE SCENES ARM TWISTING FROM THE USA OVER THIS TO ESTABLISH THE SCENARIO RUSSIAN OFFICIALS ARE TALKING ABOUT?

Back to France and the Health Minister Olivier Veran saying this during his press conference today:



"France has placed several orders for protective masks abroad. We have already signed for more than 250 million masks which will be delivered progressively in the coming weeks."

CORONAVIRUS-GAZA-ISRAEL UPDATE



The situation involving Israel and Gaza, ruled by the extremist Hamas group, has been very volatile over the years.      Missiles, people and all kinds of hazardous projectiles and objects launched towards Israel.   Hamas took control of Gaza away from the Fatah faction that rules the rest of the "Palestinian Authority" in a coup that many believe was engineered by Israel to divide the Palestinians and hinder their ability to deal with Israel in a final settlement that would be harmful to Israel.


To try and pacify Hamas attacks that terrorize large portions of southern Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu has allowed Hamas to get cash from the oil kingdom of Qatar.



LATE WORD TONIGHT FROM HAARETZ IS THAT TWO CORONAVIRUS CASES NOW ARE REPORTED IN GAZA


This has upset conservative third parties in Israeli politics and I guess we can be thankful there are third parties in Israel who can criticize the decision of big party politicians like Mr. Netanyahu.



In light of the Covid-19 situation Hamas is reported putting the heat on Israel and threatening possible action.....

ISRAELI POLITICS URGENT-NETANYAHU CLAIMS UNITY GOVERNMENT AGREEMENT, BENNY GANTZ OF BLUE AND WHITE DENIES CLAIM



Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed tonight that he and his Likud Party had reached a deal with Benny Gantz's Blue and White Party on a "national unity government" but that a key player in Blue and White,  Yair Lapid, stood in the way.


This is being denied by Mr. Gantz.

NORTH KOREA DEVELOPMENTS-PRAISE FOR TRUMP BUT.....


President Trump has written to North Korea's ruler Kim Jong-un according to Kim's sister.    Trump said to have detailed plans to change the relationship between the US and North Korea.   But Kim Yo Jong saying not enough is being done after the disarmament talks between the countries broke off.


The North tested some ballistic missiles again Saturday morning firing two short range projectiles into the sea east of North Korea..

CORONAVIRUS-URGENT  RUSSIAN AID INCLUDING DOCTORS FOR ITALY, ITALY SHUTTING DOWN NON-ESSENTIAL PRODUCTION



On instruction from President Vladimir Putin, Russian Aerospace Forces (Air Force) aircraft are ready to carry medical equipment and more to Italy.    President Putin has spoken with Italy's Prime Minister Guiseppe Conte...TASS NEWS STORY.....


Russia's Defense Ministry issuing a statement that reads in part:


"As soon as Italy is ready, the Russian Aerospace Forces military transport aircraft will jet eight mobile teams of Russian military virologists and doctors, vehicles for aerosol disinfection of transport and territories, as well as medical equipment to the republic..."

Well time to reflect a bit and its been a week in the "front line" which is evolving and changing.   My government work decided to close shop as non-essential after putting up a fight but my non-government work is deeply essential and will take up my time in the coming days and weeks in an increasing schedule.


Conditions are deteriorating here in the Eastern US and curfews and further restrictions are on the way.


We shared the Italian situation earlier in this post with a country reduced to depending on aid from China and Russia, forced to close down factories except for essential goods.


New York City at some 8.6 million plus population is one-seventh the population of Italy.



Italy now with some 53,578 cases and New York City with 8,115 CASES REPORTED TONIGHT equaling up with 56,805 cases in a population the size of Italy's.


NYC is pretty much where Italy is right now based on the total number of cases detected there.      Only 60 deaths as of this evening though.



The dashboard from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University shows worldwide coronavirus cases at:


307,104



as of 1050 pm Eastern US Time Saturday March 21st.



That's up from 275,427 as of 1130 pm Eastern US time Friday March 20th.



13,044


is the number of deaths on that dashboard.
