NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED:  WEEKEND VERSION BUSINESS RULES THE WORLD, CORONAVIRUS IN ITALY NOW WORSE THAN CHINA IF YOU DO THE MATH

Well here we on the weekend when the clocks move forward one hour for those of us in the USA that's Sunday morning at 2 am.


A set of songs here the beautiful Mac Davis song "I Believe In Music" as done by Gallery followed by the man who wrote "Snowbird" singing his song that Anne Murray made famous, then Ray Stevens does "Mr Businessman" a song I remember hearing when I was young and The New Seekers with the song that was a commercial for a big multinational corporation some 50 years ago.


It went like this:


"I'D LIKE TO BUY THE WORLD A COKE"



If there's peace and harmony in the world its good for business, it's good for profits etc.


And lets consider this on the weekend of "International Women's Day":


A DIVERSE WORKFORCE IS A CHEAP WORKFORCE



The more people you have able to work in the work force including women, immigrants, LGBTQ and the list goes on the less you have to pay them.



I always used to get politically uptight like those conservatives who went to the Walmart shareholders meeting to ask "Why are you so liberal supporting with a policy based on the notion of man-made climate change?" and the company's answer being "We are making the company more profitable".


Indeed they are because when you cut back on  packaging for products in the name of "saving the planet"   then costs are cut meaning those products in your store can be priced down raising sales and profits.

Lets not forget that stopping the use of plastic bags and having people use their own bags to shop with will also cut costs for Walmart, Kroger, Giant and the list of supermarkets goes on.

Are those places where plastic bag use has been banned or there are proposed plastic bag bans coming under the influence of corporate money passed into the hands of local politicians to advance cost cutting pro business policy?


FORGET RIGHT VERSUS LEFT BECAUSE THE REAL FORCES RULING THE WORLD ARE THE BIG BUSINESS ENTITIES



Well business rules the world and Bernie Sanders is messing with it just like the anchorman in the movie "Network" Howard Beale portrayed by Peter Finch.

Actor Ned Beatty represents the corporatist global financial forces that cannot tolerate the notion of a President Bernie Sanders in his unrestrained rage in this scene from that 1976 movie and he flat out says.....


"There is no America, there is no democracy"

And so this rigged up circling of the wagons to annoint Joe Biden as the Democrat nominee for President of the United States in recent days.



SOCIALISM NO, CRONY CAPITALISM NEVER



I guess that's my dilemma I have no time to join the mob trashing Bernie because its about getting us to conform to the business elite running our political system.     Why take sides?

Donald Trump wants business to succeed and he's frustrated as ever in his re-election year to see the coronavirus get in the way of Wall Street success.

I guess he's in bed to a great extent with the crony capitalists with the bottom line being how much cheap labor will he allow into the USA  when its all said and done.

The people at VDARE always concerned about that and they reprint columns from folks like Ann Coulter wondering how after being critical of Wall Street practices as Candidate Trump President Trump brought in more Goldman Sachs people than the previous two presidents combined.....ANN COULTER COLUMN

and yes I have experienced that one can be "Born Again" if one is willing to "flee sin".    A  "change of heart" is possible in the moment by moment day to day living.  Words of faith are cheap in my experience, only my actions of faith have authentic meaning.


But the world continues on its path and the Turkish leader continues on his pathway......

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who will travel to Brussels Monday to meet with European Union leaders, is now saying that migrants will not be sent to Greek islands in the Aegean Sea by boat.......BBC NEWS STORY




The vice-president of France's National Rally, an anti-mass immigration party, will visit the border between Greece and Turkey on Tuesday.   Jordan Bardella, who is a member of the European Parliament, will meet meet members of Greece's New Right party and see the situation first hand.


National Rally leader Marine Le Pen calling on France and the EU to support Greece.   



The EU is calling the Turkish leader's decision to let migrants move across the border "blackmail".   Its designed to force EU support for Turkey's intervention in Syria's civil war.



BREAKING NEWS: CORONAVIRUS-ITALY MAJOR QUARANTINE ZONE TO BE DECLARED FOR THE NEXT FOUR WEEKS ACROSS THE NORTH



Italy's government set to declare a quarantine zone across provinces where some 16 million people live including the cities of Milan and Venice in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.   Some 5,883 cases reported nationwide right now with more than 230 deaths.


Soldiers and police deploying overnight in the region to enforce the lockdown.


Some perspective Italy is a country of some 60 million people while China is a country of  some 1.4 billion people.    230 deaths in Italy and some 3,070 in China.    Some 5,883 cases in Italy and just over 80,000 cases in China.



Math time here population in China some 23.3 times greater than Italy.     The 5,883 cases in Italy equal 137,073.9 cases in a nation with China's population.     The 230 deaths equals 5,359 deaths in a nation with China's population.

NEW CS LEWIS LETTERS REVEAL GRIEF OVER HIS WIFE'S DEATH



And when one considers the loss of life in connection with coronavirus it seems very appropriate to link to a story about some new letters written by author C.S. Lewis that have been unearthed.   Lewis married Joy Davidman in 1956 and she died four years later.

These new Lewis letters written in 1963 in the months before his own November 22, 1963 death with one quote:


"I too have lost what I most loved"

NEW IRANIAN REVOLUTIONARY GUARDS COMMANDER VISITS SYRIA


The man who succeeded General Qassam Soleimani as commander of the Iranian Revoutionary Guards Corps General Esmail Ghaani visiting Syria in recent days.

Ghaani's visit underscoring the continuing mission of elite Iranian forces in Syria fighting the Al Qaeda and other jihadist elements and sending many an admirer of Osama bin Laden to the afterlife.   That's part of the story of General Soleimani who was killed in US drone strike two months ago.


All quiet enough for the moment in northwestern Syria as the Turks take a breather and shift their offensive action to the Greek border as mentioned earlier.
