THE US SUPREME COURT WILL HEAR PRESIDENT TRUMP'S APPEAL TO STOP DEMOCRATS FROM GAINING ACCESS TO HIS BUSINESS FINANCIAL RECORDS AND TAX RETURNS.



ARGUMENTS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH BEFORE THE HIGH COURT.


DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS AND THE DEMOCRAT DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF MANHATTAN BOTH SEEKING ACCESS TO MONEY RELATED DOCUMENTS INVOLVING THE PRESIDENT.





The vote to impeach President Trump in the House Judiciary  Committee 23-17 today.   The issue moves to the full House next week.





THE US AND CHINA HAVE ANNOUNCED THE PHASE ONE TRADE DEAL.   THE DEAL REMOVES OR DELAYS TARIFFS ON CHINESE GOODS.


THE AGREEMENT ALSO SAYS THAT CHINA WILL BUY LARGER QUANTITIES OF US AGRICULTURAL GOODS.


MORE WORK ON US-CHINA TRADE WILL BE DONE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD LIKELY AFTER NEXT YEAR'S ELECTION IN THE US.


In California Governor Gavin Newsom coming out late Friday rejecting the Pacific Gas and Electric plan to pay wildfire victims and move out of bankruptcy.


Newsom wrote a letter to PG and E's CEO saying the company's plan "doesn't go far enough" and demanding a "radically restructured and transformed utility that is responsible and accountable".


The governor wants a new board of directors subject to state approval and wants the utility to be subject to operational control by the state or a third party when circumstances warrant.

The results in the British election with all seats decided show the Conservative Party at 365 of the 650 seats in the House of Commons with the Labor Party at 203 and the Scottish National Party holding 48 seats.


After its strong showing SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon is calling for a second referendum on Scottish independence.


Prime Minister Boris Johnson now has a majority in Parliament to push his plan for Brexit through.


Its a plan that has been called a fake plan that will keep the UK tied into the European Union for many years to come.


Mr. Johnson speaking Friday of "getting Brexit done" and  a "new partnership" with the EU.



The European Union has adopted a goal of "carbon neutrality" by the year 2050.     The EU climate change plan will exempt Poland which relies heavily on coal.



In Algeria thousands of protesters on the streets today calling for a new revolution in the country.


Thousands protested yesterday in opposition to the presidential election that saw a former prime minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune elected in a vote where the turnout was under 40 percent of eligible voters.



Thousands of protesters on the streets of Santiago, Chile today opposing President Sebastian Pinera burning an effigy of him.     There were clashes with riot police who fired tear gas and water cannon.

SOME SAUDI STUDENTS ON THE PENSACOLA BASE WHO KNEW THE ATTACKER ALSO HAVE THEIR MOVEMENTS RESTRICTED FOR THE MOMENT.



In Syria, the commander of the Russian Center for Reconciliation says the jihadist opposition forces in the northwest appear to be massing for an offensive aimed at the city of Aleppo.



Major General Yuri Bornkov says rocket launchers and armored vehicles are included in the deployment by the opposition.

In Libya late Thursday Libyan National Army leader Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar announced the beginning of an offensive he calls the "decisive battle" to take the capital city of Tripoli controlled by the internationally recognized Government of National Accord.


His forces now reported advancing on the center of the city of Tripoli from two different directions.


Haftar has the support of the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and other nations said to include France and Russia.    The Government of National Accord is backed by Turkey, Qatar and Italy among other nations.

The US Ambassador in Turkey summoned to the country's foreign ministry following yesterday's unanimous approval of a US Senate resolution recognizing the Armenian genocide of a century ago in Turkey.    The Senate vote followed an earlier House vote to approve an Armenian genocide resolution.



And there have been at least 1,300 flu deaths in the US so far this season according to the Centers for Disease Control with 2.6 million illnesses and 23-thousand hospitalizations.
