The strike launched December 5th spearheaded by France's railway workers is continuing in an effort to stop President Emmanuel Macron's "pension reform".
Talks will resume on January 7th between the government and unions.
Its in the context of this action against President Macron's crony capitalist corporatist policies that Yellow Vests march during the holiday period.
Various strike actions are planned across France today as the strike movement looks forward to January 9th as a major day of mobilization.

As the protest took place in Paris today Yellow Vests media figure Jerome Rodrigues, injured by a police flash bang round in a previous demonstration losing one of his eyes, again injured today.
It is said he was hit by a shield or baton.

The official government estimate of protesters in Paris today was 4,500. 800 of them reported wearing Yellow Vests.
Protests in other locations across France including 1100 in Bayonne according to the government and 2200 according to union organizers.
500 said to be in Saint-Etienne, 200 in Toulouse, 150 in Rennes.
Lower numbers but the kind one would expect on a holiday weekend?
