The Battle of Brexit. 

Prime Minister Theresa May has maintained that her deal achieved with the European Union is Brexit with a departure from the European Union, but its been rejected repeatedly and as the pressure of an April 12th deadline approaches a close associate of hers now calls the plan a "compromise".

Leader of the House of Commons Andrea Leadsom says that May's deal negotiated with the EU is:

"The compromise option, the one that delivers on the EU referendum but at the same time enables us to accommodate  the wishes of those who wanted to remain in the EU"


British voters chose Leave as the option in the 2016 referendum.

Reacting to the latest from Mrs. May the leader of the party of Brexit, Gerard Batten of UKIP, says that voters should send a message:


"to the quislings in Westminster"


and vote UKIP on Thursday in the Special Election for the Newport West seat in the House of Commons.


"an attack on free speech"


That message from Australian Independent Senator Fraser Anning as he was censured by the Australian Senate for his views expressed following the terror attacks on two mosques in New Zealand last month.

Anning condemned the attacks but then went on to say that mass immigration contributed to the atmosphere that led to the mass murders.

Strict new Islamic laws coming into force in Brunei Wednesday, a nation on an island off the coast of southeast Asia.

Homosexuality will be punishable by stoning to death and theft will be punishable by amputation.

There's been strong condemnation from governments internationally and some prominent individuals.

Speaking on Wednesday, the country's ruler Sultan Hassanal Bokiah is quoted by the AFP news agency saying:

"I want to see Islamic teachings in this country grow stronger"

In Chicago, Lori Lightfoot winning in a crowded field of candidates to be the next mayor.    Lightfoot is a former prosecutor, an African-American woman and gay.     Lightfoot campaigned an anti-corruption candidate.


Shots fired from a helicopter on protesters in Zulia State, Venezuela Tuesday.   Protests against the Maduro regime continue in the midst of constant electricity outages and water shortages in the country.

A legislative body established by Maduro moving to take away the immunity of the country's Interim President and President of the National Assembly elected by the voters, Juan Guaido.

One legislator in Maduro's assembly saying Guaido needs to be in front of a firing squad.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu taking to the international stage just days before Israel's General Election next Tuesday.

An explosion Tuesday at a military-space academy in St. Petersburg, Russia.   Four were injured in the blast.   Three seriously and one slightly injured.   All of them were officers said to be moving a dangerous object in a lower story of the building.

As new carbon taxes called "carbon pricing" come into force in Canada driving up gasoline prices roughly 15 cents a gallon, there's research out claiming Canada is "warming faster than the rest of the world".    In fact, the government report claims "climate change" is twice as fast in Canada as in other places.

Five are dead at a French retirement home after eating their Sunday dinner.

A full investigation is underway by the French criminal justice system.

The wrongful death lawsuit against federal, state and local law enforcement plus other defendants in the killing of Oregon Standoff protester LaVoy Finicum in January 2016 is on hold for six months.

A lawyer for the Oregon State Police is being treated for cancer triggering the delay.

But a federal judge has agreed to amend the complaint filed by Finicum's family adding specific names of FBI agents and Oregon State troopers involved in what was called a "felony traffic stop" along US Route 395 in Harney County on January 26, 2016.

Members of the Saudi team accused of killing journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul last October received training in Arkansas.   The company "Tier 1 Group" was formerly known as "Aggressive Training Solutions" and offers training under a US Department of State license.

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau removing two former Liberal Party cabinet ministers from the party's caucus in the House of Commons.    Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott resigned from Trudeau's cabinet saying he meddled in the SNC-Lavalin bribery case to prevent prosecution of the construction-engineering firm.

Trudeau expressing concern about a "civil war" in the Liberal Party and his dismay that Wilson-Raybould recorded her conversation with a senior civil servant where she was told there might be a "collision" with Trudeau just a month before her resignation from the cabinet.

Andrew Scheer, Leader of the Opposition from the Conservative Party, tweeting that: "if you tell the truth, there is no room for you in the Liberal Party of Canada".

After the army chief of staff said there was "no more time to waste" the Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika submitted his resignation Tuesday night.

There have been weeks of protest in the streets demanding Bouteflika's resignation and calling for an overhaul of a political system demonstrators say is for the benefit of business leaders, politicians and the military.

Crowds were celebrating in the streets Tuesday night.

The chairman of the upper house of parliament will become an interim president with a new presidential election within three months.

Back home and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying that the frontrunner for the Democrat presidential nomination needs to clean up his act when it comes to touching women.  Pelosi saying that while his alleged actions don't disqualify him, they should cause former Vice-President Joe Biden to consider how his touching of women is perceived by them.

Carlos Ghosn, the former Renault-Nissan CEO tweeting that he will hold a news conference a week from Thursday on April 11th to tell his side of the story.

Ghosn currently under house arrest in Japan after putting up bail in the millions of dollars and being in prison for 100 days, accused of wrongdoing.

Ghosn is claiming a pension from his former employer worth some 850 thousand dollars a year.

The price of oil continues to move up.  It went over the 62 dollar a barrel mark Tuesday amid signs OPEC is cutting back production.   Early Wednesday morning at 530 am Eastern US time the price stood at 62.68 a barrel.

President Trump argued for more oil production last week.

The President's policies sanctioning the oil producing nations of Iran and Venezuela are cutting off the flow of their oil into the world market.

Word from the US is that three of the eight countries granted temporary waivers to continue importing Iranian oil in spite of US sanctions have now cut their Iranian oil imports to zero.

And from the Administrator of NASA, goals laid out to Congress Tuesday.   Testifying at a congressional hearing Jim Bridenstine said astronauts will be on the Moon by 2024.    Then the Moon will be used as an advanced base for astronauts to reach Mars in 2033.

And that's the way it really is as we enter Wednesday morning April 3rd, 2019.
