BREAKING NEWS:  YELLOW VESTS WEEK 21 IN FRANCE WITH RESTRICTED ZONES, MAJOR RALLY IN ROUEN

(LATEST NEWS AT THE BOTTOM OF POST)

The government of France continues to apply the maximum pressure on Yellow Vests protests with an ever widening list of restricted zones for protest.

This weekend restrictions are in place in Caen, Toulouse and Rouen, where a major Yellow Vests protest has been called for on social media.

In Paris an ever widening zone of restriction includes the Champs-Elysees, the Elysee Palace (Presidential Home) and the National Assembly building.

Nationwide a mobilization of 63,500 members of the police Saturday.

In Paris we have the new Prefect of Police Didier Lallemont keeping up his pressure on protesters and a protest procession that will be on both banks of the Seine River launching at 12 Noon local time.

Getting back to Lallemont.    He defended his cops when he was chief in Bordeaux after they beat National Assembly member Loic Prudhomme as he was walking away from a Yellow Vests rally.

Prudhomme, a member for the Left party "France Insubordinate", was bloodied in the ear in that incident.

Another protest ban we have become aware of is down in the south of France in the Pyrenees Mountains at Tarbes, which has been a regular place for Yellow Vests protests since they began last fall.

A lot of talk about protest bans and justification of them in the name of protecting business interests in center city areas.

In the USA last year Portland, Oregon Mayor Ted Wheeler citing left and right groups protesting in the city wanted to have special powers to ban demonstrations.

Not too much support for him except from the local Chamber of Commerce and the Antifa and left-wing elements in that city quickly caught on that the protest ban wasn't about the "Right" groups protesting, it was about shutting them down.

The left-leaning city council members shot the notion down quickly.

In France the protest ban thing is being done at local levels right now with new powers to ban protest being discussed in the National Assembly right now amidst some concerns about suspending the freedom of protest implied in the legislation that President Emmanuel Macron wants passed.

A surprise gathering of Yellow Vests outside President Emmanuel Macron's villa in the Pas de Calais region Friday night.

Commenting on his 'on the spot' fine from police in Paris today, Yellow Vests figure Eric Drouet said it was his notoriety that caused it.

The series of  town hall meetings concluded this week by President Emmanuel Macron's government as Drouet sees it was an election campaign in disguise with people and questions selected in advance.

Drouet's lawyer says he perfectly free to have a coffee on the Champs-Elysees if he likes.
