BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF: THE BUNDYS AND DONALD TRUMP BROADLY AGREE ON SUBSTANCE BUT DIFFER ON TONE
The liberal media trashed Cliven Bundy back in 2014 for using a word that Dr. Martin Luther King used profusely till his murder:
"Negro"
And the "conservative media" ala Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin also headed for the exits over the matter.
But this week the liberal media decided to "come to Jesus" and give Cliven, Ammon and Ryan Bundy some attention for their views on immigration because it appeared to help their anti-Trump cause.
But as was pointed out in a previous post Ammon Bundy's call for a "process" to be followed to allow some of the migrants into our country echoes President Trump's own sentiments expressed November 7th but lost to the liberal media because they were part of Trump's confrontation with CNN's Jim Acosta.
One of the left-leaning media sites getting into the fray was the UK's "Guardian" newspaper.
They talked with Cliven Bundy not just about immigration but about prisons. Cliven Bundy's nearly two year experience with the prison system in our country has left him with these impressions:
"There's a pretty good percentage of people that shouldn't be in jail. They are making money off of prisoners....It's a bureaucracy instead of a justice system."
"We are supposed to be the freest nation in the world...I was in jail with several thousand people. I've seen a lot of good people in there......"
For starters I've heard a close friend of President Trump, Nigel Farage, who loves this country note that the United States is to his dismay:
"Five percent of the world's population, 20 percent of the world's prisoners"
Trump is endorsing legislation ("First Step Act") that passed the House to lower sentences for many in federal prisons leading to early release and he's tweeted for its passage in the Senate.
This has drawn the ire of the "Washington Watcher" on the VDARE website:
"At the forefront of Republican priorities: 'criminal justice reform,' an idea promoted entirely with the foolish hope of attracting black voters in mind. The First Step Act would reduce mandatory minimums for many drug offenders and reduce legal penalties for committing a crime with a firearm. The bill rolls back many of the measures that helped America reduce crime since the anarchic 1970's and 80's..."

But yes, the Bundy's are concerned about President Trump and anyone else out there saying all those trying to enter our country are "criminals" or "terrorists" or "being paid" to do so.
They say its a situation that needs to be sorted out and some people truly fleeing persecution and suffering should be let in to the country, but even President Trump said that needs to be done in some cases.
Its just that politically biased media is too busy spreading anger and division to simply report the facts of what has been said.
