FRANCE LATEST: MACRON'S POPULARITY STILL TANKED AFTER HIS SPEECH TO MOLLIFY YELLOW VESTS
The popularity rating of France's President Emmanuel Macron remains at the lowest.
23% is his approval rating in the December polling from IFOP. For this poll its two percent lower than November's 25%.
The disapproval rating for December in this poll is 76%, up from 73% in November.
Some opinion polls have placed Macron's popularity even lower than this one does at 23%.
The IFOP poll also asked about a potential presidential contest among French voters between December 11th and 13th.
Leading the pack Marine Le Pen of the National Rally at 27 percent, Emmanuel Macron would be at 25 percent. Further back the candidate of the Left Jean-Luc Melenchon at 14 percent and Francois Fillon of "The Republicans" at 13 percent.
Another matchup created by the poll used the new leader of "The Republicans" Laurent Wauquiez and he only got 10 percent. Both Le Pen and Macron would be at 27.5 percent each in that scenario while Melenchon would be at 13 percent.
