By July 1990 there was this new voice on the radio while I was given my notice that I was being drummed out of the mainstream media.
I was a Religious Conservative, Pro-Life Drunk.
On the one hand I could say I got fired for my beliefs but on the other hand I was a drunk my work was sloppy and choppy so they had cause to drum me out.
I cracked jokes in the newsroom quite a bit with a conservative spin to my humor one guy said to me:

I was tuning into Rush on the radio going home from work my terminal shift in the television news business was an early one ending at 1 pm they kept me on the side giving me time to find a new job.
And Rush was appearing in other places too he tried to guest host for Pat Sajak on late night television but that became an ambush. CBS cleared the studio citing "triggered" audience members.
We were seeing the harbinger of things to come aimed at Rush and others an intolerant canceling mentality.

"Cracker Barrel" has added a lot of higher-priced enticements to the menu but the Chicken and Dumplings still a low-price meal for me.
Some of the joints around here give me a club sandwich and fries for 15 dollars or more for 10.99 I get three sides with the meal at Cracker Barrel and they give you with biscuits and corn muffins too.
I walked out of Cracker Barrel tonight dinner for three spending around 46 dollars with the tip.
