YELLOW VESTS GATHER TO PROTEST IN PARIS SATURDAY JANUARY 7, 2023
Inflation, "Pension Reform" and the use of Article 49.3 of the French Constitution by President Emmanuel Macron to force legislation through the National Assembly.
Those reasons cited in the calls for mass Yellow Vests protests today in France.
PUBLIC OPINION POLLING IN FRANCE THIS WEEK SHOWED ONLY 27 PERCENT IN FAVOR OF RAISING THE RETIREMENT AGE.
18 PERCENT SUPPORT A RISE FROM THE CURRENT 62 TO 64 WITH NINE PERCENT WILLING TO RAISE IT TO 65.
IT IS PRESIDENT MACRON'S GOAL TO MOVE THE RETIREMENT AGE IN FRANCE TO 65.
HE WILL PUSH LEGISLATION THIS YEAR FOR 'PENSION REFORM'.
THIS WEEKEND ERIC CIOTTI, LEADER OF THE 'MAINSTREAM RIGHT' LES REPUBLICANS, SIGNALLED THE NOTION OF COMPROMISE WITH MARCON ON PENSION REFORM.
MAINSTREAM MEDIA REPORTS SUGGEST THAT WILL BE A NEW RETIREMENT AGE OF 64.
LES REPUBLICANS HOLD THE BALANCE OF POWER IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WHERE MR. MACRON'S PARTY IS SHORT OF A MAJORITY.
On Friday Mr. Macron tried to demonstrate his care and concern for the shortage of health care workers in France.

The government's official estimate tonight is that 59 protests were held with 4700 participants.
2000 people said by the government to have protested in Paris.

This protest in Strasbourg said to have involved some 200 people. One black banner at the front of the march emphasizing the cost of living in France.

"MACRON AND HIS LAWS OUT"...
