                    NEWS SUMMARY AT THIS HOUR



A Nevada judge has blocked the execution of two-time killer Scott Dozier scheduled for tonight.

Pharmaceutical company Alvogen sued to stop its drug, the sedative midazolam, from being used for the execution.  The company claimed the drug was obtained by the state of Nevada illegally through subterfuge and was to be used for unapproved purposes.  They also claimed that use of the drug might cause a botched execution.

Oregon ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond are home tonight after they were pardoned by President Trump yesterday.    A private jet owned by oil executive Forrest Lucas was used to bring the freed men to the airport in Burns, Oregon today.

They thanked all those who helped them during their imprisonment noting thousands of letters received from supporters.  Steven Hammond said of President Trump "God bless him".

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who's concern for the Hammond's inspired his son Ammon to lead a protest in Oregon in early 2016 on their behalf, told the Associated Press "Now we've got a President of the United States who is paying attention to what is going on".

President Trump has urged NATO countries to increase their defense spending even more than the current guideline of 2 percent of Gross Domestic Product.

Speaking at the NATO summit in Brussels, Trump said there should be defense spending of 4 percent of GDP by NATO countries.

On Thursday President Trump's trip moves onto the United Kingdom for a two day visit.  While anti-Trump protesters will take to the streets of London, others are planning pro-Trump events.  Most of the President's activities will be at locations outside of London.

Thousands of additional police have been drafted into London from all parts of the United Kingdom to deal with the protests.

Melania Trump will meet veterans and schoolchildren in London on Friday accompanied by the husband of  British Prime Minister Theresa May, Philip May.

Dutch Member of Parliament Geert Wilders from the Party of Freedom says he will not be able to speak at a "Free Tommy Robinson" rally set for Saturday afternoon in London.   

The British government has refused police protection and will not allow his Dutch police protection to have firearms permits in the UK.  Wilders is the subject of Islamic death threats.

Opposition forces in Nicaragua plan nationwide protests and a general strike Thursday.  A government crackdown on the opposition in the last four months is said to have killed 264
people.

That's what the Inter-American Council for Human Rights says in a report that also lists 18-hundred as being injured in the protests.

The left-wing elected government of President Daniel Ortega and his wife, Vice-President Rosario Murillo is accused of establishing a dictatorship based on nepotism and brutal repression.  Government police and militia are blamed for the deadly attacks on opponents.

England's bid to reach soccer's World Cup final for the first time since 1966 was dashed tonight when Croatia won 2-1 in extra time.  Croatia will now face France in the World Cup final in Moscow on Sunday.  England moves on to face Belgium in the third place game in St, Petersburg on Saturday.
