Ryan Bundy acted as his own lawyer during the Oregon Standoff trial (where he and six others were found not guilty by the jury) and the Bunkerille Standoff trial where his persistent questioning of a government official led to disclosure of a surveillance camera and the judge's intervention to force out more evidence hidden by the prosecution.  That process ended with a mistrial and dismissal of all charges by the judge.

Now Bundy seeks to become Nevada's next governor.   His first TV ad cites the connection between Nevada Democrat Harry Reid and the efforts by the federal government to force his family out of the ranching business.

But noting that Republican officials at the state level failed to protect the Bundy Family from the federal assault on their family business Ryan Bundy is running to change the way government works in the "sovereign state of Nevada".

Its also worth noting here that the prosecutors in the Bunkerville case, led by Republican Steven Myhre and supported by the new US Attorney appointed by Republican Jeff Sessions, Dayle Elieson, are appealing dismissal of charges against the Bundy's and defendants in the Bunkerville case.

Earlier this month a Republican official in Nye County, Nevada endorsed Ryan Bundy for Governor.

Commissioner Donna Cox told a radio talk host she was supporting Bundy because Republican candidate Adam Laxalt refused to endorse the Republican candidate for state legislature in District 36.

That candidate is brothel owner Dennis Hof who operates his business in a county where prostitution is legal.
