To sum up the week in French politics one sees the struggle of Emmanuel Macron to maintain political power to keep dragging the political process out as long as possible.

His latest designated Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu named a cabinet last Sunday night to a storm of rejection a symbolic if not literal middle finger.

By Monday in the face of certain rejection in the National Assembly Lecornu announced his resignation but kept it from taking place until Wednesday.

Then another 48-hour waiting period until Mr. Macron opted to renominate Mr. Lecornu to again be Prime Minister Friday evening.

The political storm of indignation resuming with pledges of censure once a cabinet is picked and the government is put before the National Assembly.

The likely scenario is a multi-week process just like Mr. Lecornu staged the first time he was made Prime Minister to avoid a fatal assembly vote that would follow his announcement of a cabinet.

POLITICAL POLLING THIS WEEK IN FRANCE SHOWING A RECORD LOW 14 PERCENT APPROVAL FOR MR. MACRON.

FOR POLLSTER ELABE THIS WAS THE LOWEST LEVEL OF APPROVAL EVER RECORDED FOR A FRENCH PRESIDENT.

82 PERCENT OF THOSE POLLED SAYING THEY DISTRUST MR. MACRON.

POPULARITY OF OTHER POLITICIANS SURVEYED SHOWED JORDAN BARDELLA OF THE NATIONAL RALLY (RN) FIRST AT 39 PERCENT.

HIS GOVERNMENT SEEMS DOOMED TO GO DOWN TO DEFEAT BY CENSURE IN THE ASSEMBLY.

On Monday President Emmanuel Macron will be in Egypt to support the Gaza deal achieved with the intervention of US President Donald Trump.
