Last Monday (December 23rd) three explosions rocked the Russian cargo ship "Ursa Major" in the western Mediterranean Sea.

The vessel went down with 14 crew members rescued and two missing.

The site of what the ship's owners called a 'targeted terrorist attack' not too far away from the British outpost of Gibraltar.

14 sailors rescued but two others didn't make it.

Is this what the "Ukraine Enthusiasts" think Christmas is for?

And then we have the seizure of a Russian affiliated oil tanker off Finland on Christmas Day.

The vessel accused of sabotaging an underwater electricity link between Finland and Estonia.  There have been other such incidents reported involving other merchant vessels of Hong Kong and Chinese ownership.

The seizure of the oil tanker points to the notion of an impending NATO blockade of Russia's access to the Baltic Sea.

Such a NATO blockade would include the landlocked Russian territory of Kaliningrad between Lithuania and Poland.

One Russian expert spoke last week of Russian military escorts for merchant vessels in the Baltic.

Alexander Stepanov clearly laying out what he sees as NATO's intention to resort to a blockade in the Baltic...

"Expert offers to use navy ships to escort tankers after 'Eagle S' incident. Alexander Stepanov believes that NATO intends to lock the Kaliningrad enclave, to lock the Russian trade fleet in Neva estuary and simultaneously block the Leningrad naval base"-Tass Russia

Over on the NATO side the talk is clearly pointing to increased military presence in the Baltic Sea...

After the suspected gross sabotage against underwater cables in the Gulf of Finland, NATO will increase its presence in Baltic Sea. President-Elect Donald Trump speaks of bringing peace in Ukraine but the war that started there seems to be expanding into other zones of conflict between NATO and Russia in advance of the inauguration on January 20th.

In recent years scary videos with a British motif have been published suggesting conflict in the Baltic with Russia leads to the use of nuclear weapons by Russia perhaps giving away the "hopes" of those seeming to escalate the Ukraine War at this moment...
