On Thursday President Macron visited Poland briefly a country on the border of the Ukraine War with deep hostility to Russia.

French military advisers including future President Charles de Gaulle assisted Poland in fighting the Red Army after Russia became a Communist country at the end of World War I.

Poland neighbors Ukraine whose President Volodymyr Zelensky was with Mr. Macron and US President-Elect Donald Trump last Saturday in Paris.

There has been talk of European troops going to Ukraine even French soldiers during the course of the war this week the Wall Street Journal claimed that Mr. Trump was advocating for European troops to be involved in a ceasefire in Ukraine...

Macron speaking in public about the controversial trade deal between the EU and MERCOSUR nations strongly opposed by French farmers.

He stressed the notion that the deal is not acceptable in its current form saying:

"We will certainly not sacrifice our agriculture in the name of mercantilism from the past century"
