A SMALL BAND OF YELLOW VESTS PROTESTERS IN PARIS TODAY
When Emmanuel Macron called the snap National Assembly election in June my sense was that this election was ultimately about electing a majority that was Pro-Capitalist and Pro-Israel.
The new majority would weather tough times ahead driven by military conflict with Russia, economic conflict with China and the Middle East conflict in general.
Pivotal in that majority would be the National Rally which in the end did not finish first like the New Popular Front of the Left did but together with Macron's centrist forces and Les Republicains the Mainstream Right create that majority.
An Elabe poll taken for BFM-TV this week with 2/3 of the respondents saying new Prime Minister Michel Barnier will have to take the National Rally's views into account in order for this government to remain in power.
On Thursday night an event in Le Havre when an angry man confronted President Macron as he worked the crowd without being seized or taken away:
" not respected the result of the legislative elections"
"I think you have cut down a part of the people of France"
You are a hostage of the National Rally"
A sampling of his comments that enabled Mr. Macron to respond with his talking points:
"There are not hostages. It's a democracy, we try to listen to everyone and respect everyone"
"No one is a hostage to anyone. It is the French people who have expressed themselves"
Macron then spoke of the 'political forces' needing to make 'compromises' speaking of an:
"unprecedented situation".
In the end it can truly be said that Mr. Macron's snap election call directly led to the 'unprecedented situation'...

MEANWHILE LEFT-WING OPPOSITION FORCES HAVE CALLED FOR A NEW ROUND OF PROTEST A WEEK FROM TODAY (SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21st)
Today Marine Le Pen offering the National Rally's view that the new Barnier government should have a short term and there should be new legislative elections before the 2027 Presidential Election.
