YELLOW VESTS PROTESTERS ARRIVE FOR PARIS PROTEST 3/9/2024
The Centrist Liberal Capitalist movement of Emmanuel Macron trying to contain taxes and inflation for the moment.
The Macron faction hoping to maintain a plurality of support from the French electorate in the upcoming June 7th European Parliament elections.
Social issues emphasized to suck in voters further to the Left as the Right in France solidifies behind notions ranging from peace in Ukraine to limits on immigration and an end to disintegration of French culture and tradition.
This week a vote by a Congress of Senators and National Assembly members to enshrine abortion in France's constitution.
That vote leading to a Friday "sealing" ceremony by the Macron government coinciding with International Womens Day.
And a unanimous vote in France's National Assembly this week for legislation to pay reparations to 10,000 gay people discriminated against by laws in force from 1942 to 1982.
At that time the age of consent for homosexual sex was higher than heterosexual sex.
Gays mostly men were arrested and imprisoned for sexual relations with males under the age of 21 later age 18 down to ages of 13 later 15 where only consensual heterosexual activity was then legal.

The yellow flag with the "Peace Sign" used in today's demonstration.
