FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 179: STOPPING LE PEN, SURGING ELECTION RELATED PROTEST

Last Saturday left-wing protesters swelled the ranks of Yellow Vests demonstrating in Paris and other cities as the Left in France mobilized ahead of the Sunday First Round vote in the presidential election.

Their hope was to see Left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon reach the final round against incumbent Emmanuel Macron.

But in the end the surging Marine Le Pen took the second spot to face off against Macron in the final round vote a week from tomorrow.

Now the challenge for "Establishment" forces like the Mainstream Media and the Macron government is to shut down Marine Le Pen in the midst of economic turmoil and the Ukraine situation which threatens to escalate with each passing moment.

Emmanuel Macron trying to strike a less strident tone than Joe Biden or Boris Johnson in relation to Ukraine and Marine Le Pen also soft pedaling any knee jerk hostility towards Russia.

Plenty of contrast in the campaigning this week with Macron calling a Muslim woman with a head covering a "feminist" and Le Pen countering that Muslim women with "the veil" are wearing an "Islamist uniform" and that tickets should be handed out for wearing the veil in public.

Of more interest to Yellow Vests Le Pen this week advocated for the notion of referendums on public issues moving her position towards Yellow Vest calls for the RIC (Citizen Initiative Referendum).

This coming week Le Pen and Macron will debate with 28 percent of French voters saying the debate could influence their choice in the final round.

LEFT-WING PROTESTS BEING ORGANIZED IN FRANCE TODAY ALONG WITH A SPEECH BY MACRON IN MARSEILLE TO CONVINCE THE LEFT TO SUPPORT HIM OVER LE PEN.

Another day of massive left-wing mobilization with the potential for violence in the streets some 30 cities said to be involved in planned protests...THE GUARDIAN-UK

Speaking today Marine Le Pen says the tenor of the protests against her are undemocratic an attempt to demonize her and her voters.       

One can also infer that these protests are an attempt to intimidate anyone who would come out and vote for her in the second round a week from tomorrow....

ALSO WORD TODAY OF 'EXTINCTION REBELLION' PROTESTERS THE 'CLIMATE ACTIVISTS' STAGING A SIT-IN PROTEST ON THE BOULEVARD STRASBOURG-ST DENIS IN PARIS.

THEY WERE DRAWING ATTENTION TO THEIR AGENDA AND DEMANDING ACTION OF EMMANUEL MACRON AND MARINE LE PEN.

To the countryside of France and the traditional traffic circle (rond point) Yellow Vests protest this one in Leers just outside Lille in the north.

Banners all over the traffic circle one white banner reading in part:

                     "Reagir Non A Macron"

                       "React No To Macron"

A "Resistance" march in the streets of Bordeaux Yellow Vests and banners.

The signs in this protest the slogans with a very left-wing flavor "Band of Fascists" read one in part describing the choice for voters in the final election round next weekend.

                     "No Le Pen Macron"

shouted during the protest many signs again signaling in essence there is no difference for the people of France in the choice for the final round of the election.

That is the view of many on the Left in France...

At that rally the banner of the NPA (New Anticapitalist Party) a left-wing French party whose presidential Philippe Poutou received .76 percent of the popular vote in the first round.

The message of the Leftist protests and the Mainstream Media reporting them include notions that Marine Le Pen will bring in racist policies and even establish militias that will threaten minority groups in France...(BFM-TV)

In Marseille supporters of Emmanuel Macron found the incumbent's meeting infiltrated by Yellow Vests without vests but singing the anthem of the Yellow Vests....VIDEO LINK

Macron pitched the idea of a "Green France" at his rally to rally the "Left" to his side against Le Pen.      He pledged to stop using coal, oil and natural gas.

Going back to the countryside of France another Yellow Vests protest at a traffic circle this one in Villeneuve-sur-Lot southeast of Bordeaux.    You even get to the sausage grilling in this eight minute video...
