FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 178: PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WEEKEND, COVID FREEDOM CONVOY IN THE SOUTH, PROTESTS CONTINUE

NATIONAL RALLY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE MARINE LE PEN SPEAKS TO HER FINAL CAMPAIGN RALLY IN PERPIGNAN, FRANCE 4/7/2022

Tomorrow in the first round of France's Presidential election voters will be able to register their verdict on Emmanuel Macron's five years in office.

It was his fuel tax policies in 2018 that helped to launch the Yellow Vests protests.   Higher energy taxes in the name of fighting "climate change" and "going green" had to be dropped.

In the month of the two election rounds (April 10th and 24th) existing fuel taxes have been lowered by the government in a bid to calm voter angst over higher prices triggered by sanctions on Russia.

Macron's main rival Marine Le Pen rising in the polls in recent days with Macron calling her policies "racist and "brutal".    Tomorrow the first poll that counts with the top two finishers among the twelve candidates moving to the second round.   

All indications are that the two will be Macron and Le Pen.    The Left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon may have a large vote as the "Gauche (Left)" desperately try to unite behind a candidate.   He will likely finish third and be out of the second round.

Plenty of opposition to Macron in the crowd at the protest and a speaker before the march with a man dressed as Jesus carrying the cross and on this cross it said:

 "Votre Jesus Gilet Jaune!"  translated "Vote Jesus Yellow Vest!"

On this day before the first round of the Presidential Election a march through Paris called:

                              "Walking For The Future"

Some Yellow Vests there but others in the crowd talking other issues like "climate change" and "social justice" forces of the Left feeling a bit left out of politics right now with Macron and Le Pen dominating the debate....

There were people in Yellow and others not in Yellow in the south of France where a Freedom Convoy protest opposing COVID mandates was underway.

Organizers say that more than 100 vehicles were involved in the protest.

This video is from the town of Forcalquier in the Alps near the Mediterranean coast a protest rally held there when the convoy arrived...

Protest in Marseille today with some Yellow Vests joined by others like in Paris.  The people with orange shirts and the color orange on their signs calling for "climate justice"...

In Montpellier the traditional Yellow Vests protest at a traffic circle...
