NEWS SUMMARY-INTELLIGENCE REPORT MONDAY 10/15/2018

(UPDATES AND EXPANSION, EDITING UNTIL 8AM)

Political parties aligned with the German government of Chancellor Angela Merkel lost over 21 percent of the popular vote in yesterday's Bavarian state election.   The Christian Social Union lost its majority and the Social Democratic Party lost half of its support from the last election in 2014.

The leftist Greens doubled their support with the anti mass-immigration Alternative for Germany picking up just over 10 percent of the vote to enter the state parliament for the first time.

The beating that the Social Democrats took may cause them to consider leaving the Merkel government.

All eyes now turn to the election 13 days from now in the German state of Hesse to see if the trend continues.

The pickups in support for the AfD and Greens show that both sides of the mass immigration-migrant debate are gathering support while the "mainstream" parties are falling apart losing support from a disillusioned electorate.

The Speaker of Sweden's Parliament, the Riksdag, will now give the task of forming a government to another party leader.
