BAVARIA ELECTION:  EARLY PROJECTION IS FOR MERKEL ALLIED PARTIES TO LOSE MAJOR SUPPORT

(RESULTS ARE STILL COMING IN WITH LATER PROJECTIONS REFLECTED IN THIS
UPDATE 430 PM EASTERN)

The Chrsitian Social Union is projected at 37.4 percent, the party of current Minister President Markus Soder that got 47.7 percent last election.   This is the sister party of Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats.

The SPD  (Social Democrats) are at 9.6 percent (also part of Merkel's national coalition government), Free Voters at 11.4 percent, the Greens at 17.7 percent, the Free Democrats at 5 percent.

The anti-mass immigration Afd, running for the first time in Bavarian state elections, will get 10.3 percent of the vote.

The 200 seats in the state parliament will be distributed as follows based on the updated projection:

CSU    84
SPD    21
FV      24
Greens  38
Free Democrats  11
AfD      22

CSU Bavarian leader Soder spoke to the need to maintain stability.

Some MSM claims are being made the party was "too conservative" in its positions.

The Social Democrats are badly bruised.   The SPD may be reconsidering its position in national politics where it is currently the third element in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
