One could call this a week of "War And Death" in France.
Tuesday's July 14th parade in Paris the annual Bastille Day event more militarized than ever 6,600 French soldiers with hundreds of soldiers from dozens of countries that support Ukraine also involved.
A coalition of 36 nations dubbed the "Coalition of the Willing" involved.
Leaders of those nations and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky participating in the parade.
It was revealed that military maneuvers involving Ukrainian soldiers and military forces of the coalition are to happen outside of Ukraine in the months ahead.
For now, the notion of the maneuvers is linked to a French and British led force to be deployed in event of a 'ceasefire' in Ukraine.
That linked to US President Donald Trump's on again, off again talks with Russia over the Ukraine War.
But as the European nations build their military strength aligning themselves with Mr. Trump's standard of five percent of GDP being spent on defense by 2035, the ability of European-NATO countries to move beyond 'peacekeeping' in Ukraine will grow.
This could mean French-European forces bearing the brunt of warfare against Russia and supporting US confrontation with China in the "Indo-Pacific".
The US plays the background role in the rising confrontation with Russia supplying arms for Ukraine paid for by European countries.
The US has publicly stated it is reducing its commitment to NATO to meet other commitments.
In conjunction with last Tuesday's festivities, it was announced that France military reserve strength has grown to 51,000 personnel.
"The message we send to the world is this. Yes, peace is our goal. We cherish freedom and the rule of law.
And yes, we stand ready to fight and defend them.
Always, and at the cost of blood if necessary."
PRESIDENT EMMANUEL MACRON IN HIS SPEECH TO FRANCE'S ARMED FORCES THIS WEEK SPEAKING OF THE PURPOSE OF THE EUROPEAN REARMAMENT.
MR. MACRON ALSO PROCLAIMING THE WORK OF REARMAMENT DONE DURING HIS PRESIDENCY THAT WILL END NEXT YEAR SAYING:
"The commitment has been fulfilled. The facts speak for themselves, and history will judge"...
IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WEDNESDAY THE ROADBLOCK OF THE FRENCH SENATE OVERCOME WITH A 291-241 VOTE SUPPORTING THE 'ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL'.
THREE VOTES OF THE LOWER CHAMBER CAN NEGATE ANY OPPOSITION TO LEGISLATION IN THE SENATE.
THE SENATE MAJORITY OF THE TRADTIONAL 'RIGHT' LES REPUBLICAINS (LR) PARTY PUT UP RESISTANCE TO THE BILL LEGALIZING ASSISTED DEATH.
THIS AS ELECTIONS ARE ON THE HORIZON NEXT YEAR LED BY THE PRESIDENTIAL VOTE IN APRIL.
ONE OF THE UNSPOKEN THINGS ABOUT DEATH FOR THE OLD AND SICK IS THAT ANY GOVERNMENTAL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR CARE CAN BE SHIFTED TOWARDS MILITARY SPENDING.
THIS INDEED IS THE TREND IN CANADA AND EUROPE TODAY INCLUDING FRANCE AS NATIONS COMPLY WITH THE INSISTENCE OF US PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP THAT THEY SPEND FIVE PERCENT OF THEIR GDP ON NATIONAL DEFENSE.
WILL VOLUNTARY ASSISTED DYING IN FRANCE GIVE WAY TO MANDATORY 'ASSISTED DYING' AS WAS THE CASE IN GERMANY AT THE END OF THE 1930'S?
