Asfura, who is of Palestinian ancestry, leading the Liberal Party candidate Salvador Nasrallah of the Liberal Party, also of Palestinian ancestry.
Trailing in third place Leftist candidate Rixi Moncada.
Meanwhile the US has imposed visa sanctions on two Honduran officials from the Leftist LIBRE Party accusing them of impeding a special vote count following the election.
