The Court of Appeal ordered former President Nicolas Sarkozy released from prison on Monday.


Sarkozy returning home to his previous house arrest status awaiting appeal of his latest corruption conviction.


His release came with a restriction on Mr. Sarkozy's contact with Minister of Justice Gerald Darmanin who visited him at the Sante prison.


Mr. Darmanin a former member of Sarkozy's Les Republicains (LR) party before joining President Emmanuel Macron's 'centrist' movement.
