In Australia today more evidence presented at a corruption commission hearing involving the former New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian, noted for her harsh COVID regime in Australia's most populous state.
Berejiklian is accused of improperly steering money to the legislative district of her former boyfriend and state legislator Daryl Maguire.
A July 2018 phone conversation played back at the hearing involving the two the conversation in part:
Maguire: "I'll go and chill, you just throw money at Wagga"
Berejiklian: "I'll throw money at Wagga, lots of it don't you worry about that...you just have to do what's right on your end, otherwise you'll kill me."
In his testimony to the panel Mr. Maguire discussed another matter where he acknowledged wrongdoing.
