FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 153: RISING FUEL PRICES, MACRON STAKES OUT LONG-TERM VAX PASSPORT POLICY PANTOMIME PROTEST YELLOW NUMBER ESTIMATE NEARLY 65,000

Calls from Yellow Vests activists like Jerome Rodrigues for an increased mobilization and effort this Saturday as the reality of higher fuel prices has come to France.
The price of diesel fuel earlier this month reached just over 1.53 euros a liter which would be more than six dollars a gallon.
In November 2018 "green taxes" on gasoline were a major catalyst in the sudden emergence of the Yellow Vests protest movement.
The fluid economic situation with a "green energy" backdrop not going unnoticed by the leading challenger to incumbent President Emmanuel Macron in next April's Presidential Election.
Marine Le Pen said this week that she would end government subsidies for green energy and take down wind turbines that have been erected in the countryside.
Le Pen out fighting as mainstream media continues to plug the candidacy of pundit Eric Zemmour who has cut into some of Le Pen's first round support in the constant polling underway by the media since Zemmour announced his candidacy.
Meanwhile President Emmanuel Macron's government moving to keep vaccine passports in place until perhaps July 31st of last year.
Its a sign that Macron feels he can get political mileage out of the passports. Its believed that 25 percent of public opinion is opposed to the vax passport which would indicate a wide base of support for them.
But its worth noting that the commitment to continuation of the vax passport was not a firm one leaving room for changes as the political campaign continues.

The protest in Chambery in the Alpes east of Lyon today including a street performance.
Pantomime being used to convey the opposition to vaccine passports and the performers were interviewed as well.

In Tours today a procession led by white uniformed protesters with white masks in opposition to vaccine passports and dehumanization associated with them...
And the story of opposition to the vaccine passport and coerced vaccination in the Pyrenees Mountains of southwestern France.
The demonstrators some in Yellow Vests accompanied by whistles and musical instruments and the singing of the Yellow Vests song.
The shout of "Liberte" also heard in the crowd....
Back to Paris and a huge crowd at the Champs de Mars for a rally today.
This protest clearly against the vaccine passport with the French flag prominent in the crowd....
The official government estimate tonight 40,610 people protesting at 171 locations across France including five thousand in Paris.
That is almost identical to the number last week slightly higher but this slightly lower number seized on by BFM-TV to suggest a decline in the protest movement.

"The Yellow Number Facebook" now estimating 64,872 protesters at 146 locations this Saturday...
Last week their estimate was 67,000 protesters as opposed to the government's 45,300.
Back to today's protests health care workers speaking at a rally in St. Nazaire in Brittany today. Those workers suspended without pay for not getting the jab.
Almost 17 minutes in the video account inlcuding music in the streets and hundreds joining hands at the waterfront...
