SYRIA BREAKING:  US APPEARS TO BE THREATENING MILITARY ACTION IN HOLIDAY WEEKEND STATEMENT

"As a guarantor of this de-escalation area with Russia and Jordan, the United States will take firm and appropriate measures in response to Assad regime violations"

Heather Nauert of the US State Department speaks late Friday 5/25/2018

With the Syrian regime dropping leaflets in southwestern Syria near the Golan Heights and Jordan urging rebel-jihadist forces to disarm and with the expectation of Syrian government military action in the region, the United States has begun to cry foul.

This going into a weekend statement reminds me of what President Trump did earlier this year when he discussed Syria on a Friday going into a weekend.

On the one hand the president said the only reason for United States involvement in Syria was ISIS, but before he said that he said this:

"what Russia and what Iran and what Syria have done recently is a humanitarian disgrace....."

President Donald J. Trump 2/23/2018 at news conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull

What is coming if Syria launches military operations against rebel-jihadist forces in SW Syria?

Some US military response based on some alleged humanitarian crisis based on some alleged action by the Syrian regime side.

Any US response would contradict the continuation of President Trump's statement of February 23rd this year:

"We're there for one reason, we're there to get ISIS and get rid of ISIS and go home"

An analysis of the situation involving Syria, Iran, Russia, Israel etc. etc. and the window of opportunity for military action in the Middle East region by Israel (and the United States) I posted recently is linked below along another post on the February 23rd statement.
