MR. PRESIDENT, YOU MET KIM KARDASHIAN BUT DO YOU REMEMBER MEETING JERRY DELEMUS
President Trump has met with Kim Kardashian at the White House to discuss "prison reform" in general and the case of a mother sent to prison on drug charges in particular.
It reminds me of a man Donald J. Trump met during the 2016 New Hampshire Primary campaign.
Marine Jerry DeLemus was the co-chair of the New Hampshire Veterans Coalition for Trump.
After the primary US Marshals showed up at Jerry's home early one morning to haul him off to jail. DeLemus was accused for using his Second Amendment right to defend the First Amendment rights of the protesters at Bundy Ranch in April of 2014.
The Bundy's called for help because federal government snipers were aiming weapons at them and protestors supporting them when the federal government seized the cattle at Bundy Ranch in Nevada.
When Jerry got to Nevada his court appointed lawyer made it look like there was open and shut case against him so there was a guilty plea he later tried to withdraw, but couldn't.
The judge gave him an 87 month sentence.
When the time came for the trial of key defendants one of the key defendants, Ryan Bundy, acting as his own lawyer, got a federal official to admit the existence of a surveillance camera not disclosed to the defense lawyers by federal prosecutors. The judge forced out more exculpatory evidence that was hidden by the federal government including the use of the snipers at the protest.
We ended up with a mistrial for the key defendants in the case because of the rigging of the evidence.
But Jerry DeLemus sits in a federal prison in Massachusetts right now in this case after his guilty plea and two other men are still jailed in the case after convictions by juries who were given rigged evidence as well (Greg Burleson and Todd Engel).
Mr. President, when do these men get "prison reform"?
When do these men get pardoned by you?
