Time now to remember the legacy related to my youthful 'mentor' Dr. Carl McIntire Fundamentalist Presbyterian Separatist etc. etc...

McIntire led many folks in the Presbyterian Church in the direction of a strict separation from the rest of the Presbyterian Church he followed Dr. J. Gresham Machen following Machen's death he went his own way.

His ego told him he was fighting Liberalism, Modernism and compromising "Neo-Evangelicalism" exemplified by Dr. Billy Graham.

His radio ministry called the "20th Century Reformation Hour" because McIntire thought he was leading reformation of Protestant churches from all forms of Liberalism and Compromise.

Dr, Carl McIntire considered the Presbyterian Church in America and folks like the late R.C. Sproul to not be up to snuff as Presbyterians or followers of Jesus for that matter.

If he were on this Earth today he would scoff at those 'compromisers' in connection with the controversy about to be discussed in this video by Pastor Matthew Everhard.

It's a controversy linked to the PCA and the ministry founded by the late Dr. R.C. Sproul...

I believe the pastor there called for prayer and its leads me to this.

First off when I was in a church some years ago my wife came to me because some creepy guy touched her.    This happened in the church office as she prepared the church bulletin.

This guy was related to an elder in the church.  He worked in a business that went out of business my mother patronized it she spoke of him as a 'creepy guy' in that situation.

I spoke with the pastor and he said the matter was between the two of us no elder board involvement so I met the 'creepy guy' face to face.

He threatened to obtain a lawyer over the matter whoa I felt put into a situation where I came to some decision to leave that church other reasons on the table alongside my own secret sexual sins lurking in the background.

I even said "We both have something wrong here" to this guy let's do this together.

That was then and this is now I sense deep sin in churches that is being denied and covered up and for me the way forward is my own repentance and reliance on a higher power.

When it comes to prayer I have been considering this lately...

"For this reason I kneel before the Father,  

from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,

may have power together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,

and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us, 

to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
