The conference co-sponsored by France and Saudi Arabia set for the United Nations in New York this Monday to recognize a Palestinian state.

President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his intention to recognize Palestine following a conversation with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday.
The UK, Canada and Portugal among the group of nations joining France to recognize a Palestinian state.

But France is being compliant with Israel when it comes to Iran President Macron now saying 'snapback' sanctions on Iran will come into force at the end of this month.
That in spite of a deal recently signed between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran to allow inspections of its nuclear facilities.
The willingness of France, the UK and Germany the so-called "E3" nations to go forward with Iranian sanctions points to the tightening of the screws on Iran.
The sanctions decision coming ahead what might become open conflict with the US, Israel and or other nations possibly Pakistan which the US has been wooing in recent months.
Mr. Macron made his comments on Iran in conjunction with an interview conducted by Israel's Channel 12 in which he slammed Israel's military escalation in Gaza seeking conquest of densely populated Gaza City.
Macron said in part:
"You are causing so many civilian deaths and casualties, that you are completely destroying Israel's image and credibility not only in the region but in public opinion everywhere"
Macron said the best way to isolate Hamas is to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state.
He said he was offended by Benjamin Netanyahu's reaction to France's decision on Palestinian state recognition that linked it to supporting Hamas among other things...
The union-led protest movement that took to the streets of France last Thursday with an ultimatum that expires next Wednesday.
They demand the government back down from the entire budget scheme for 2026 that includes abandoning two paid holidays, doubling medical deductibles, cutting unemployment compensation and ending 3,000 jobs in the civil service.
