This week France's Minister of Labor Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet drew fire from all sides of the political spectrum with a proposal to tax 'wealthy' pensioners in France. The idea being that the taxation would fund services for older people in France.
It was proposed that pensioners who receive 2,000 or 2,500 euros a month (2081 or 2602 US dollars) be subject to taxation.
The issue generated reporting of the situation in the mainstream media that headlined the notion that taxation of pensioners is virtually impossible...

The game in Ukraine is perhaps less clear even though new US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to see the fighting there ending.

A report from the "Financial Times" in the last week conveyed the notion of five or six NATO nations putting 40 to 50 thousand troops into Ukraine.
