The traditional day of protest in France May 1st no exception this year grievances over the cost of the Olympics late this summer in Paris on the minds of demonstrators.

121,000 protesters according to police across France on Wednesday with the CGT trade union reporting 210,000 demonstrating.

Riot police advanced in Paris where the head of a procession was said to be controlled by "radicals".
