BLAST FROM THE PAST-WORLD RADIO TV HANDBOOK 1966
I love media history and was a shortwave radio enthusiast in the 1970's right up to beginning of the millennium. The "WRTH" was considered a must for shortwave people like me in those days.
Back in 1975 I received my first 'WRTH" and read its contents cover to cover. I found myself more interested in the details of broadcasting in the various countries than the foreign shortwave broadcasts.
I really enjoyed listening to local radio stations around the world relayed on shortwave in those days.
At this link to the Internet Archive you can see that the 1966 WRTH is available if you sign up for borrowing.
I just love seeing what kind of local broadcasting was going on back then and you find that without commercials television and even radio in some countries is pretty limited.
We had 24 hour radio and 18 hour or more television (some cities 24 hour stations existed) going in the USA in 1966 it was happening analog back then. Colorization of TV moving into high gear in the USA with NBC's full color transition 1965-66 the other two big networks coming up behind.
