BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF:  GREG BURLESON GETS LAWYER FOR APPEAL, TODD ENGEL'S LAWYER CONTINUES TO APPEAL

There's a little good news for Greg Burleson.  He now has a lawyer to help appeal his conviction.
Lawyer Mark Eibert was given an "expanded" appointment to file any post-trial motions in a court by a US Magistrate in Las Vegas.

Activist Kelli Stewart posted the court document on Facebook Thursday June 7th.

Stewart also posted the latest court documents regarding the efforts of Todd Engel's lawyer, Warren Markowitz, to have Bureau of Land Management whistle blower Larry Wooten deposed.

Markowitz wants Wooten's information on law enforcement and prosecutorial misconduct in the case on the record in a deposition to bolster Engel's appeal for a new trial.

The federal prosecutors in the case (Steven Myhre, Daniel Schiess and Nadia Ahmed) backed by the interim US Attorney for Nevada appointed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Dayle Elieson, are objecting to Markowitz's effort in written arguments filed recently.

Both Burleson and Engel were convicted in a trial with rigged evidence last year with Burleson sentenced to 68 years and three months in prison while Engel is still jailed and awaiting sentencing.

THE END GAME FOR BOTH BURLESON'S AND ENGEL'S LAWYERS WOULD BE TO GET NEW TRIALS GRANTED FOR THE TWO MEN LEGALLY ENABLING JUDGE NAVARRO TO TAKE THE ACTION SHE HAS WITH OTHER DEFENDANTS DISMISSING CHARGES.

Kelli Stewart believes any new trial could not go forward because this time all the evidence would put the federal government in a bad light they don't want the public to see so charges would be dismissed before either man was tried again.

Stewart believes that the only thing that would help Jerry DeLemus is a full presidential pardon.

DeLemus entered a guilty plea in connection with the Bunkerville Standoff, then tried to withdraw it but couldn't.   He ended up being slapped with an 87 month sentence by US District Judge Gloria M. Navarro.

For the moment Todd Engel's lawyer is fighting for a new trial with Greg Burleson now having a lawyer who can potentially file an appeal for him to get a new trial.

If both men can get a new trial through appeal, it would likely lead Judge Navarro to dismiss charges against them in line with her dismissal of other defendants charges based on the hiding of evidence proving their innocence by prosecutors.
