The nonsense about Assad in Syria whose crime was only to fight back against Al-Qaeda jihadists and their kin backed by the Saudis and their cousins the Qataris trying to overthrow him is just like World War I when a British propaganda machine (heck, probably the same one operating in this situation) told us German soldiers in Belgium were tossing babies into bayonets.
The USA was being set up for war then just as it appears to be now.

The intense economic pressures Trump has begun to apply to Iran are steps short of war, the kind of treatment given to Germany and Japan in 1940 and 1941.

Buchanan tries to clear up the nonsense about Yemen in his recent column:

And when comes to Iran as the leader in "terrorism" again Buchanan gives us the truth:

…..the major terrorist organizations we fight today in the Near East, Middle East and Africa-al Qaeda and its affiliates, the Taliban, ISIS, Boko Haram, al-Shabaab--are all Sunni, like the Saudis."
But Iran's nuclear program you say. Well, North Korea's very real and dangerous nuclear program drew a summit meeting between its ruler and President Donald J. Trump in the end.
We're supposed to be doing this for Israel and yes I do consider myself to be a Zionist, but I do not look at Israel as an idol.
Ancient Israel had its sins like Tamar being raped and David's lust for Bathsheba with the massive and disastrous political consequences.
Modern Israel has its sins too like former President Moshe Katsav's rape conviction and jail sentence and then there's Aryeh Deri, leader of the religious party Shas and cabinet minister.
He was convicted of bribery, fraud and breach of trust in 1999 and did jail time. He came back to politics and is now Interior Minister. Now police have a list of crimes they have recommended charges on including fraud, breach of trust, tax offenses, perjury etc. etc.
Iran has its militant attitude as well with its "Death to Israel" and "Death to America". It calls Israel anything but Israel with names like the "Zionist entity" and now President Rouhani speaks of Israel as a "cancerous tumor".
The Iranian religious regime has its hypocrisy just the many religious Jews exemplified by
Mr. Deri.
For me, what was shocking was reading in "Haaretz" first regarding men from Israel and later in the "New York Times" regarding men from Iran was that they both shared a common "tourism" destination.
Both Iranian and Israeli men end up in Thailand for illicit sexual activities including those with underage victims.
And when God looks down on these two nations and those beyond including Saudi Arabia and the USA that is what God sees.
Must I see it differently. I am a sinner, Donald Trump is a sinner, Benjamin Netanyahu is a sinner, Mohammed Bin Salman is a sinner and Hassan Rouhani of Iran is a sinner. I prefer to see it that way.
AMERICA FIRST IS NOT TRYING TO USE ECONOMIC PRESSURE AND LIES TO INCITE THE NEXT WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND TO PICK UP WHERE GEORGE W. BUSH LEFT OFF. AMERICA FIRST SIMPLY ISN'T 'SAUDI ARABIA FIRST'.
Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt were all for America First, weren't they and I think we all know what the end game was looking back in history.
World War I locked in World War II as a consequence.
We can't change what happened then, but I sure hope we wake up to the truth about what's coming at us.
