Joy in Thailand today with word that rescuers have found 12 missing soccer team members and their assistant coach in a flooded cave. The group of boys and their coach had been missing for 10 days. The challenge for the international team of rescuers now is getting everyone out safely. Late reports suggest that could take some time until waters recede or the group learns basic underwater diving skills to get out.
In Germany a deal was announced to end the threat to Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition government. Interior Minister Horst Seehofer dropped his planned resignation after a compromise was reached to deal with migrants entering Germany. They are to be housed at "transit centers".
There was high drama in Germany during the last 24 hours over the future of the government but a leader of the largest opposition party Alternative for Germany, Alice Weidel said that Seehofer was performing 'a cheap bit of theater'.
A three year old girl who's birthday party was attacked by a knifeman in Boise, Idaho Saturday night has died of her injuries. Eight others were injured in the attack with seven still hospitalized and some having serious or critical injuries. The victims were refugees living in an apartment complex.
Suspect Timmy Earl Kinner of Los Angeles was living there temporarily, but was asked to leave last Friday. Kinner, who police say has an extensive criminal history in several states, is being held without bail.
In Cleveland the FBI has arrested a man who was talking about staging a bomb attack on the Independence Day parade there July 4th. Demetrius Pitts is alleged to have pledged his allegiance to ISIS. His other name was Abdur Raheem Rafeeq.
Harvey Weinstein is facing new charges involving a third woman in New York claiming sexual assault. He is accused one count of a criminal sexual act and two of predatory sexual assault. The charges carry a sentence from 10 years to life. The Hollywood film producer is also under investigation by federal authorities and police in Los Angeles and London. More than 70 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
President Trump says he's interviewed four candidates to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. The President says he plans to interview two more. He will announce his decision next Monday.
Former President Obama's adviser Ben Rhodes says the ex-British Prime Minister David Cameron asked Obama to speak out against Brexit before the June 2015 referendum. Obama said the UK would be at the 'back of the queue' or 'back of the line' as we would say it in the USA if Brexit was approved. Speaking on his radio show in the UK today, "Mr Brexit" Nigel Farage said: "Thank you President Obama, we probably couldn't have done it without you". Farage added that the backlash from British voters to Obama's comments helped get Brexit over the top.
And from Mexico tonight the official vote count has reached 91 percent for president showing Manuel Lopez Obrador with 53 percent of the vote, his nearest rival Ricardo Anaya at 22.5 percent.
Leftist Obrador's MORENA movement has won a number of governorships including Mexico City and Veracruz. MORENA and allied parties will control 52 of 96 Senate seats and 210 of 300 seats in the Chamber of Deputies.
