BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF: PRETRIAL ACTIVITY CONTINUES TODAY
US District Judge Gloria Navarro will resume a detention hearing today for Ammon Bundy.
She's already denied release to the three other defendants in the third trial (Cliven Bundy, Ryan Bundy and Ryan Payne).
So one should not hold their breath expecting any pretrial release for Ammon Bundy.
We may find out today if defense lawyers are satisfied with Acting US Attorney Steven Myhre's compliance with Judge Navarro's order to release info on federal snipers and FBI cameras used in the days leading up to the April 12, 2014 standoff in a wash near the Bundy Ranch. The prosecution was supposed to provide defense lawyers with more details by Noon Saturday.
Myrhe's been defiant since release of minimal details about both in the last week or so during a series of evidence hearings in the case, expressing the view its not his job to help the defense by providing details.
As it stands now the trial for the four defendants is set to get underway tomorrow (Tuesday November 14th) at the federal courthouse in Las Vegas.
