Bring in Nigel Farage and be ready to leave the European Union without a deal.

Those messages from President Trump on the eve of his state visit to the UK Monday.

Trump interviewed by the "Sunday Times".

He said that Farage the leader of the new Brexit Party:

"has a lot to offer" 


And the President says the UK should not let the European Union hold all the cards in the negotiations:

"If you don't get the deal you want, if you don't get a fair deal, then you walk away"


Mr. Farage called Consevative Party MP and leader of the European Research Group, Jacob Rees-Mogg, on a radio program Rees-Mogg was hosting recently and asked to be part of the talks with the EU on Brexit.

Latest political polling shows that his Brexit Party leads if a General Election were held now.  The Brexit Party won the European Parliament election recently held by a double digit margin over its nearest competitor.

The President has arrived in the UK Monday for his visit.


Via Twitter Sunday night President Trump condemning Syrian and Russian attacks on Al-Qaeda and Turkish backed nationalist forces in northwestern Syria.

Iran also blamed "to a lesser extent" in attacks that the President  describes as "indiscriminately killing many innocent civilians".

Statements like this from the President have been a prelude to allegations of chemical weapons attacks by the Syrian government side and US military actions against Syria in the past.

For the second night in row an Israeli attack on Syria this time targeting the T-4 airbase not too far from where the fighting is going on in the northwestern part of the country.


Five dead and others wounded in the Israeli strikes.


At least three Syrian soliders killed and others wounded in an early Sunday morning attack by Israel on military positions near Damascus. 

Israel says it launched the strikes after two projectiles were fired at Mt. Hermon on the northern end of the Golan Heights Saturday evening.   One of the projectiles landed at a ski resort on the mountain.

The French Secretary of State for the Interior, Laurent Nunez says that in spite of police injuring more than 2400 Yellow Vests protesters in the last six plus months:

"things still went well"


Nunez says he defers to the justice system which is investigating instances of police attacks on protesters with more than 170 such cases now being probed.  

Injuries to protesters have been the focus of Yellow Vests demonstrations this weekend.

Organizers say some 2-thousand protested in Paris Saturday and more than 23-thousand nationwide.

Government figures much lower but both sides are showing fewer protesters participating in the Saturday demonstrations at this point.


An upheaval in French politics Sunday night as Laurent Wauquiez resigns from leadership of  "The Republicans".    "The Republicans" were once the leading party of "the Right" in France but they have seen less support in recent elections including the European Parliament elections.

In the aftermath of his resignation France's leading opposition politician, Marine Le Pen of the National Rally,  called on Republican supporters, members and elected officials to switch allegiance to her party via a Twitter post.


The leader of the Social Democrats in Germany, Andrea Nahles, also resigning.   Her resignation comes after the SPD's poor performance in the recent European Parliament elections.   The party came in third at 16 percent behind the Greens.

A new leader for the Social Democrats to be chosen Tuesday with left leaning forces increasingly objecting to the party's participation in the government led by Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Speculation that a shakeup in the SPD could lead to the party leaving the government triggering an early election in Germany.

From Israel a political shakeup as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu removes conservative politicians Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked from their posts as Education and Justice ministers.

Their party failed to cross the threshold to win seats in the last election.    No immediate word on any replacements as Mr. Netanyahu leads an interim government until after the new elections called last week take place on September 17th.

In Algeria, the Constitutional Council saying its impossible to hold an election for president on July 4th.   Two prospective candidates for president have been rejected.

The country in turmoil with the former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika leaving office April 2nd under pressure from the military in the midst of mass street demonstrations.

Protesters continuing to demonstrate every Friday for reforms in Algeria's political system

A North Korean government official close to ruler Kim Jong-un is shown at a concert seated close to Kim.

The picture by the the government news agency was released after South Korean media reported that Kim Yong-chol was sent to a labor camp following the unsuccessful summit between Kim Jong-un and President Trump earlier this year.
