FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 30: MONTPELLIER CENTER OF PROTEST, PARIS PROTEST AND MORE



Media reports say some two thousand protesters were on the streets of Montpellier in southern France today answering the call for a "national protest" there.    Protest organizers estimated the crowd at five thousand.

"Resistance" and "Dictatorship" are the words on banners and being shouted with reports of masked protesters and police using tear gas according to BFM-TV.

This video was posted from Montpellier showing the scene in the center of the city.

Later information from BFM-TV says that 500 anarchist "black blocs" were part of the protest with six arrests reported along with eight injuries (four protesters and four police).

The prefecture announced that tear gas had been employed exclusively without use of flash bang rounds in Montpellier


In Paris the Yellow Vests procession for Week 30 got underway at mid-day.  1100 estimated participants according to the authorities.

Nationwide the government estimates some 10,300 Yellow Vests with the Yellow Vests Facebook offering an initial estimate of 19,654 protesters today.


In Bordeaux some 600 Yellow Vests gathered to march and the number in eastern France at Nancy was estimated at 350.

Yellow Vests also protesting in Dijon today with 13 arrests reported there.
