BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF:  'THANKS BUT NO THANKS' IS BUNDY RESPONSE TO 'LONG-TERM CONTRACTS' WITH FEDS

"Once again we've got Congress still claiming the land that belongs to the ranchers and Congress still claiming jurisdiction that belongs to the state and its far from being right"

Ammon Bundy responds to HR 6687 approved unanimously by the House giving long term contracts for cattle ranchers at Point Reyes, California

Democrat Congressman Jared Huffman of northern California was pushing legislation and got it successfully passed for 20-year grazing leases for ranchers in the Point Reyes area.

In fact it was passed unanimously by the House with both parties giving the thumbs up.

In Nevada, the Bundy family endured prosecution and persecution by the federal government related to notions of "leases" and "grazing fees" and protection of the desert tortoise all designed to drive Bundy Ranch out of business.

Ammon Bundy was asked about how he felt about long term leases and had a response on video noting that the legislation keeps the status quo of federal control over the land and not allowing the states and the people ownership rights involving the land.

Bundy noted:

"US Congress, the United States government is claiming something that's not their own and it doesn't matter if you're saying that now we can lease it for 20 years or we can lease it for two years.  It does not matter.  It is not yours to lease in the first place".

Ammon Bundy said that Huffman's end game with the legislation  (with all members approving)  is to back off from a confrontation but ensure that the tyranny of federal land control is strengthened in the end.

He concluded his video saying "Thank You But No Thank You".

The Corporatist System that partners big government, big banks and big business and that incorporates the Uniparties of every nation like our Republicans and Democrats needs a centralized set of rules to make things run to the benefit of business and banking interests that buy our political system.

That means federal control of the land that makes it easier for special interests like the energy industry, the recreational industry, the housing industry or whomever else to gain access to the land in the end.

Just recently Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke was in Pittsburgh at an event sponsored by an energy industry group called the Consumer Energy Network'.

And you wonder why a wealthy man tied to energy, a friend of Vice-President Mike Pence, took interest in the Hammonds up in Oregon and getting them pardoned.

I thank President Trump for the right decision to pardon Dwight and Steven Hammond but make no mistake Forest Lucas and his "Protect the Harvest" run interference to prevent resistance to federal control of the land.

The Bundy's stand for principle as I see it and I prefer to stand with them as opposed to politicians in Washington and elsewhere, Democrats and Republicans alike.

Out of the development of the land by business interests in Clark County, Nevada in the late 1980's came this supposed need to protect the desert tortoise and hence the scheme to shut down grazing rights that drove over 50 ranchers out of business.

(At the trial the innocence proving evidence hidden by the federal government that led to dismissal included a federal agency document stating no protection was needed for the desert tortoise in the first place)

But one decided to take a stand and resist, Cliven Bundy.
